Blago I'll bet is only the tip of the ice burg. Illinois state politics has a long history of corruption. My mother told me when she lived there the corruption was so bad that state officials would take bribes written in check form. She had a cousin in the public works that told her that they counted on the bribes as part of their revenue.

Quote from: sacrawfWhen I first reported the state park closings in August, little did we know how much the entire nation would become aware of Blagojevich!

I think the only reason we as a nation have heard of him is beacuse he is so used to coruption that he really doesn't believe he did anything wrong.

Well if we don't like the way Illinios is run, we'll have a lot to dislike with our current USA administation.:usflag:

Yes, the people that voted for these people in Illinois deserved them and so do the people that voted them in for the highest USA seats. The same people that ran Illiniois.;) He wasn't the only one, just one of the many corrupt. Notice Blago's recent comments linking the white house administation.;) We now have corruption in the White House because of all the Bush hate. :( Voting with emotion instead of knowledge hurts us all. All that the rest of us can do is pray that we can change this new government before we all end up like Illinois, unless you favor welfare states that prey on the people that work.:)

Pray for this country

Mike Up......agree with you 100%.   We are in for a rough 4 years!

Old Goat

100% Agree here too!.. America is the greatest country in the world. If people would pay just half as much attention to goverment and politics as they do to sports events and other pleasures [camping too] it would be even greater and we would not have these problems....

No you're right, the last 8 years have not been a picnic mainly because the Bush administration and the Republicans that were in charge turned their backs on the very people that put them in office and began behaving irresponsibly in many areas.

I did not vote for President Obama, but at the same time I had to hold my nose when voting for McCain.

I did decide after the election that I would give President Obama the benefit of the doubt and see what he would do and I also became somewhat optimistic after his innagural speech. But I have to tell you, with all the pork I see in this so called Stimulus package he and the Democratic Congress have sent to the Senate, it surely doesn't look like the "Change" he promised, it looks like the same old mess, but only on a much grander scale.

I hope he wakes up and realizes he can not just turn all of this over to the worst Congress this nation has ever had with their 21% approval rating to lead this nation out of the ditch we find ourselves in, because they will distroy what we have left of the United States.

His first days as President have not impressed me yet, but I hope and pray he will rethink his lack of leadership on this package.
