****NEW BOOKING INSTRUCTIONS****

OK.....Here's the deal.

If we get together and grab all the beach-front sites that we can for April 24-26, 2009 we could have a great camp-out.

Here is the beach-front layout from North to South by section.

Section A.....37-38-40-41-43-45

Section B.....47-49-51-53-55-57-59

Section C.....60-62-64-66-68-70-72-73

Section D.....75-77-78-81-83-85-87-89-91HC-92-93-94

Here is the Website:
http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=CA&parkId=120025
That'll take you right to the Doheny CG set-up.

Please print these instructions. Thanks to Brad I found out that the website has changed the way that you can book sites.
Make sure that you sign-in with your user name and password BEFORE 8:AM on October 1st, preferably around 7:50. If you don't have a ReserveAmerica account and want to participate, make sure that you sign-up for an account right away.

Once you sign in, Click on, "Find Camping Spot" (Top Left). Click on, "Park name" window and type in "DOHENY SB". Click on "Arrival date:" window and select the date (Friday) April 24 (or whenever you want to arrive). Click on "Search Campgrounds" button as soon as the time on your computer screen turns 8:00....not a second sooner because you'll have to start over and you won't be able to even get back in for some time. By the time you do, the game will be over.

Click on "Doheny SB" then in the left column you can input 2  or more site #s separated by a comma then click on "Search Campsites". Once you click on "Search Campsites", you capture the sites (if someone didn't beat you to them). Now, click on "See Details" for the 1st site to book. Then click on "Book These Dates". Fill out your info.

Book the first site then click on "Make More Reservations" and it will allow you to book the 2nd site (if one of your selected sites is available) without having to log back in again or losing your place in line (Max 2 per account...... email address).

I suggest that we select a section. Each person to 2 sites.  If we get enough participation, we can move to Section "C". The idea is to book the entire section as fast as possible. We can always swap site #s once we have booked the sites.

If all the beach front sites go fast (which they will), we start on the sites across from the beach front sites that we have booked. They go a lot slower. If you get 1 beach front site and can't get a second, grab the site across from the site that you book (see the "campground map").

Here are the the selections, let me know which ones you want to book.

We won't get all of those sites. So here is a list of the sites across the road.
Section D
79, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90
Section C
63, 65, 67, 69, 71
No need to sign up for these. Just book one as close to the one beach-front site that you may have gotten.

If you sign up to reserve sites, please be on-line before 8:AM. I will keep this post alive and post reminders a few days in advance.

This is a great CG if we can get beach-front sites. If enough people participate, this could be a real fun rally. It's totally self-serve. Those that can get more than one beach-front site will have NO PROBLEM getting a taker for it. Don't worry about getting stuck with a site that you don't need.

If anyone is interested in coming but doesn't have time or want to mess with booking, I'll make a separate list for interested campers. That will help us to know how many are really interested in attending.

No.......now, when you sign-in, you have to start from scratch. If you search the campsites ahead of time, you may have to sign in again after 8:AM.

Before, all I had to do was go to the link that I provided, sign-in and it would take me right to the same spot in the link and I only had to designate the sight #s and dates. Now, when you click on the link it still takes you to the Doheny page but when you sign-in, it takes you back to the beginning and you have to search for the campground and search for a site. I think that once you hit that "Search Campground" button, you are committed and may get cleared once the clock strikes 8:AM. If that happens, you will be required to sign-in again and you may be 30 minutes or more just trying to get into the website.

I think that ReserveAmerica is just trying to level the playing field.
