Other then Carowinds, are there any other nice campgrounds in the Charlotte Area? We have another flyball tournament with our corgis in October and just need a nice place for the weekend.

Thanks!

I can't give recommendations, but would suggest you check the //www.rvparkreviews.com and read the various posts on the area campgrounds to get a good idea.  I'd also suggest calling the campground before traveling as TS Hanna might have impacted them.

There is  a  KOA  in Fort Mill, SC,  just south if Charlotte.
McDowell Park  on Lake Wylie. BIG  campground  at Tom Johnsons  up by the  racetrack.

We were at the Charlotte/Fort Mill, SC KOA over Memorial Weekend.  Without knowing your taste in campgrounds, it's hard to say yea or nay to it.

We prefer state parks, this is nothing like a state park.  It's pretty much an RV parking lot.

However, the sites were sized ok, the bathhouse was clean and the staff was polite and pleasant.  The amenities looked ok for the kiddies. We were using the trailer as a rolling hotel room, so it worked out well for us.

There's some pics here - Charlote/Ft Mill KOA

We were there on a race weekend, so it was plenty busy.  But it stayed quiet the whole time.

Duke Power State Park is close. Check status (open/close). Another is Morrow Mtn State park in Albemarle.
I've tent camped at each, have not had my PU there .. YET.
