We're very glad to hear that you are safe. I know that I have thought about you and your neighbors during that storm and started getting a little concerned that you hadn't posted. Thank you for the update. It's nice to know that you and yours are safe.

We will pray that Ike takes a hike. There's now way of telling where that thing will go, at his point. Here is the best tracking site that I know of. They never get it perfectly right and neither can anyone but at least they can give you an idea of where the monster lurks. Where it goes.......only God knows.

Glad to hear that you guys are faring as well as can be expected, CC.  God bless you and your neighbors for doing what is right for each other.  So often "neighborhoods" become nothing more than an organized grouping of strangers that never speak to one another.  It is heartwarming to hear of the emotional and physical support you are giving one another.

We will keep you all in our prayers and hope that no more storms come your way.

glad to hear everyone is OK and the community is pulling together. DH's twin Brother & mother live in Kenner (near State  police off I-10). they were some of the Lucky ones, they got their power back quickly and no damage to their house.

Will be praying that Ike doesn't create devestation no matter where it makes landfall.

Glad to hear that you & your family are safe & recovering from Gustav. Disaster can bring out the best (& sometimes the worst) in people. Our church sent a load of supplies to the Houma, LA area this past Mon. We served as a Red Cross shelter for 2 months after Katrina; took truck loads of gasoline, food & misc. supplies to the MS coast also. Peolple in this area have hearts of compassion for those who affected by hurricanes. Our thoughts & prayers will be with all affected by IKE.

Glad you made it through the storm.  We had you in our thoughts.

Isn't great how these things bring out the best in people instead of the worst as broadcast on the news.  Kudos to your community for knowing when to give and cooperating when it was time to receive.
