Linville Falls NPS campground is located at milepost 316 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It has 70 sites and some are reserveable. The restrooms were clean but there are no showers. The campsites are large and there are six fresh water faucets throughout the campground. There are no hookups but they do have a dump station located at the park turnoff. There is a visitor center located near the campground where you can hike various trails to view the beautiful upper and lower Linville Falls. The campground can accommodate large motorhomes to tents and the sites to park on are all paved with large grassy camp areas. The site we chose was level and all we had to do was back in and unhook. There are large open sites and shaded sites. There were three apple trees so you could pick up an apple and taste one that hasn't been sprayed with pesticides,a unique experience for city dwellers. We saw various wildlife from wild turkeys to a large owl that flew over our campsite after dark.Every night we could listen to owls hooting from the surrounding hillsides.I highly recommend this high country campground especially in the fall.It stays open through October.
