When I checked the weather just a min ago it said 15-25 mph winds which we had up here today and that isn't very bad at all.( not awning weather)
Hopefully it'll stay in that range.........Thanks for the heads up see you soon!

The wind on I-10 at White Water Grade (North Palm Springs) can easily be double what is forecast for the area. That's why they have all of those wind generator farms out there.

Just be careful. I've seen more overturned campers, big rigs, and mobile homes in that area than I care to remember. I used to drive that almost every week back in my dune-buggy days, on the way to Glamis. I saw some awful wrecks along there due to sudden wind gusts.

We decided to hold off going tomorrow and just stick to coming in on Friday morning, as originally planned.

Never mind.......I just realized.....you'll be coming in the other way......duh!!!

Chez Way

Hey gang,

I finally decided on our potluck contributions:

Dinner--Tri tip

See you Friday night!  Yeeehaaaa!

Um...
Those were going to be my contributions!

Regarding possible wind:  I suppose I'll have to fold the trailer down.  Good thing we all have popups :D

griffsdad

We're probably doing mountain man breakfast and tri-trip for dinner and cake.

griffsdad

Lori here--we're hitched up and heading out. See everyone in a bit. Drive safely!PS Our contributions to the potlucks will be Mt. man breakfast, tri-tip, and upside down pineapple cake.

have fun y'all, and drink a "blue bomber" in my honor
I'm in Sedona, AZ  caring for my mother-in-law who is ill with cancer.  (all things considered, it's not a bad place to be)

now, go climb a rock! ;)

Griffsclan is home and had a great time! Although there was a cool breeze blowing on Friday when we arrived, the weather yesterday could not have been nicer! The kids were so cute making their "camps" in the desert plants and climbing on the rocks when we took them to Indian Cove for a couple of hours. When we asked Griffin if he had fun this weekend, he said "I had a blast!" Now that's a good weekend! The other thing he said that was hilarious was, "I didn't know Mr. Jim and Miss Carol were leaving today? Now that's weird." Out of the mouths of babes!

The potlucks were wonderful and so was the company. After a week of working into the wee hours of the night and trying to get over the cold Dave gave me, it was a great way to spend a relaxing weekend. AND NO SNAKES!!! :-()

Huge thanks to Kim and Richard for organizing what is becoming a Spring ritual. Griffin has put in his request though that maybe we can go back to Indian Cove next year? My request would be to schedule it early to mid-March just to make sure we beat the snakes. ;)

Pictures can be viewed here  There are some really cute ones of the kids. If anyone would like me to e-mail a copy of any of them, just let me know.
