In english...... I need new tires!

In the past I've taken all my cars to American Tires because they are closest to me and I have an account with them..... pricing wasn't much of an issue but these days I'm needing to do a little more shopping around for the best deal.

Right now I have 17" 245x65R........ I don't need anything fancy, I'm not sittin on DUBs so I'm not picky about the tires I buy........ just want a good tire at the best deal.  Any suggestions?

I have multiple good experiences at Discount Tire. I have only bought one set of utility trailer tires (3) from them, but they have rotated all my tires (16 in all), and they give a lifetime of free rotation after the first one. They always come out and meet me, if they are available, and always try to jump on my service quickly.

Highly recommend. I can't speak to prices, but I have heard they are competitive, or even more cheaply priced for the same tires.

Alot of people around here go to Costco for their tires.  They also use nitrogen to fill their tires and offer free balance and rotation.  
One thing with Costco is though, at least here, they only put the factory recomended tire size for your vehicle.

The last time I went tire shopping, I think the delta in the prices from the typical local places around here (with the exception of Sears) for the same tire was about $10. I ended up at American Tire because they do the rotation thing and they're no-nonsense quick. I ended up with a bolt sticking out of my tire a month later that wasn't repairable and they got me a warranty replacement without any fuss.
Figuring out what tire is going to work for your ride is another story. I went to the internet chatter for my car and I'm happy with what I got.

Just make sure you get a good temp rating on those tires......Means a lot when towing.......Happy tire hunting......Yuck

You may want to shop on line for your tires and have them delivered to your house and have a tire store put them on. I know thats what Dan Menell and and Kevin Cox did, aka DK&3Kids Dan and Jamesdad, respectively.

 Double check your tire size. We have the same year; vehicle and the stock tire size is P245/70/R16. Unless Shayne switched rims which by looking at the pictures from the Halloween rally, he didn't!

Thanks Bob.... when I was posting this I asked him to go out to the truck and check and thats what he came in and told me we had???  When I called American Tire co. yesterday they confirmed and had what I told them I currently have in stock when I gave them that number... BF Good Rug. Trail is I guess the name of the tire.  They told me they have something called a Bridgestone Dueler HT for about $30 cheaper per tire and then something called Kumho for $12 cheaper then the Bridgestones.  I've never heard of Kumho tires before though???

 If you want to find out what the manufactuer put on your vehicle check the drivers door. Its on the insdie of the door jam. Normally they put a sticker there with what size the manufactuer put on the truck. Yes, yours could be different from mine. I have the "LS" model and you have the "LT" model.
 A couple of the important factors to look for when shopping for the tires is the number for the "Treadwear" & "Temperature" rating of the tire.
The higher the treadwear number the better = longer wear for mileage. Temp rating is "A", "B", and "C". Also "traction" letters are important to a tire buyer.
  Kumho is another brand that the tire store sells. not a bad tire but be aware of the factors or numbers for that tire. compare them to other tire maker's to see the difference.
 Just put a set of BFG long trail T/A's on ours.

American Tire Co. has the GF Good. Rug. Trail..... but they are higher priced then what I have on there now by about $30 a tire..... so thats a bit over my budget.  

I think I'm shooting for what I have on there now I guess..... it will be my 2rd or 3rd set of them since I bought the car and they have been good tires... I can't complain.  I just wanted to see if I could get the best deal on them.... or see if I could find something else at a better deal maybe.  

I really have no desire to order online and then find someone to install......... even if I got a better deal........ I'd have to deal with the hassle myself and I just don't have the energy........... the thing I like about American Tire is each tire is $13 for mount and balance....... and they have always been good at replacing or repairs when I had a problem on my old truck in the past.

That was really cool of you to check on for me.  I'm still doing my homework so they will be on the list....... I wonder if American Tire with price match that price?  :p hahahah!

Just read all the posts, yes I bought mine through Tirerack.com, $75 each, they delivered right to my door within 3 business days. I went to Big Brand tire and they mounted, balanced all four for $50. Not a bad deal and I beleive they are Goodyears. They seem to be the best price I found. DK&3kids also did this, they told me about it. Won't go anywhere else for trailer tires.
