I received in the mail yesterday, a flier for "Family Fun @ Faulkner Farms" pumkin patch. I was able to get ahold of Maria who is one of the many volunteers that put on the weekend fun at the pumkin patch.

Admission is $3.00 per person. They are open from 10 am to 5 pm. It is put on by the Roatary club of Santa Paula and the University of Calif. Hansen Agricultural center.

They have face painting; Hayrides, mini train rides and pony rides. A pumpkin chucker! A farmers market and festive music and vendor foods. Maria told me that their pumpkin patch does not smell like the one we went to a couple of years ago!

I have a "hotlink" on page one to show you some pictures of the patch. I choose not to do the group gathering and let you all decide for yourselfs.
We are planning on going after breakfast and cleanup. Depending on who is going with us, I may have room for one or two more people. Prices for the pumpkins are better than the grocery stores, so I have been told. The food vendors range from tri-tip to fish tacos to pizza from Dominoes.

Its a very noce place and MUCH better then the stinky place we went a few years ago.  Its also nice to know that the money goes to local groups.  We had a lot of fun there last year.....

I want to try and answer the last question first then give out a few details.

Check in time is 2:00 pm. Now if your site is vacant and CLEAN; I don't think they would have too much trouble letting you in early. Besides the registering at the desk. I want to say that I have the campground people in agreement BUT something has come up that you ALL should know about.

It was brought to my attention by Brad, that Far West is selling their campground as we speak! The board of supervisors are to vote on the sale  this Tuesday! This is just like last year's drama except that I have emailed two different officials who have expressed that the sale could happen and be final between the dates of Oct. 1 - 7, 2009! They assured me in their email's that our reservations and rates will not be affected!

I asked if the sale does go thru as planned that they could send a representaive to the campground and tell us about the future of the campground!
Again I don't want to start a panic! We are fine for this rally! Don't worry be happy!
As far as decorating our campsites I'm stuck in the middle as to what approach I should consider in asking either the present people working  there or ask the contact that i have started having a conversation with in this transition!

Since I seem to be on a roll with bad news; there have been a few cancellations in the group and were are down to five maybe four trailers up in Alder. Would anyone rather have a close knit group up in Alder, away from the noise and action that will happen in Birch? At the present moment I'm looking for volunteers. Bear in mind that the sites up in Alder are great, lots of shade for the most part, closer to the bathrooms but only have a 20 amp electrical box at each site. They do also have water hook ups at each site.

for those of you who might not Know if you get an adaptor for your special 30 amp plug to a reguler plug you will be fine. shouldn't need to run the A/C

Freedom_5

Thanks Dee,
I believe the adapter plugs sell for about $6.00 each.

hatlet

we'll go into alder, we would like either site #4 or 5

Freedom_5

The circle just keeps getting smaller and smaller If two more families have drama, we will all be in Birch and nobody from our group will be in Alder unless they so choose.

This is not to jinx more people cancelling!

I appreciate Hatlet for wanting to help out! It makes the decision making that much easier.

 Thank you.

 Bob

Freedom_5

Hi All,

A couple of things to mention.

The sale of the campground was approved on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009.

Please do not call the campground, they are pretty much in the dark about this. I will get more details as they come to me from one of the new owners that I am in contact with presently.

DK3&kids have cancelled. So now we are down to two trailers in Alder! Hatlet wants one of the prefered sites and I agreed to that.

Lastly for now, all the checks that have been sent to us were deposited today! Any checks that are coming after today will be deposited as we get them, unless you tell us otherwise. I only have four familes that are not paid up at this time. Two of the families are sending their checks as we speak. 58air actually over paid at the present moment unless they are staying an extra night. So Harald if you are reading this let me know what you want me to do with the extra money. You had put a cash deposit of $25 down already and then we got a check for $53.00?
