Quote from: Dee4jaaack the weather forcast keeps getting worse....But we're SCCampers we're not afraid of any rain. besides we have camped lots were we get most the rain at night and the day is ok.

I'm thinking if anyone has an ez-up to bring it. 4 to 6 of them should cover the extra site unfortunetly  don't own one

also a note:

FIREWOOD: Don't forget To bring some  and also we HAVE to use a portable firepit so the logs have to be regular size not giant ones.

I'm so glad you posted about the fire pits I was going to ask that very question I had a feeling this would be the case.......Mostly because I needed to know what size wood to bring.  We have a E-Z up we always have it with us.....See ya all soon......

Hoagie

We have a 10' x 10' EZ-Up we will bring. It has some zip up walls as well. Good for blocking the wind from one end. I think I still have some firewood left as well, although I doubt it is very dry.

Current forecast on Weather.com calls for chance of showers on Thursday/Friday and showers on Saturday/Sunday. Of course, the same website claimed it should be clearing today. It is currently coming down pretty steady in South OC.

Potluck:
Breakfast - we are thinking of a DO "Cowboy Breakfast"
Dinner - Probably Chicken Tortilla Soup in the crockpot. This would be in addition to the Ketel One Cosmos :D

See you all sometime after noon on Friday.

It's just started snowing up here in Apple Valley........ :frosty:

I wiil have Bryan bring our ez-up also, and we have a portable firepit kind of a small one...I may bring my indoor fire place also...Yuck to the rain for raining on my parade.  I guess we will bring lots of movies, for indoors.  I guess Dave and I will find an indoor activity...I think we can manage to find something to do, after 40 years of marriage :eyecrazy: ....We are going to eat out for valentines day :-()

Jim and Carol, may I suggest Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar. It's about 10 minutes away. Lori and I have been going there for 15 years. It's owned by Lawry's. They do great prime ribs dinners. Here's the website.

We love you too, Dee :D

For those of you interested in a dinner out on Valentine's Day, I got a flyer in the mail from Newport Dunes advertising a special at the Back Bay Cafe for Valentine's Day. The cost is between $45 (crusted chicken) to $55 (steak and shrimp) per person and includes a glass of champagne, dessert, sides, etc. There probably is a link on the Newport Dunes website if you are interested.

There is also Fleming's and Roy's in fashion island.  Do a search, there are lots of high end restraunts in CDM...  I don't know them cause I have never been...

Ok..as usual I've taken on too many school projects and haven't even started getting ready for camping and will be busy at Kara's school most of the day tomorrow so I'm changing my potluck stuff

don't panic, I'm still bringing breakfast burritos,

but for dinner I'm going to break out the electric dutch oven and do meatballs...unless someone already called it. I couldn't find the list. I also have a surprise dish, not fancy more cutsie..

there won't be much cookin goin' on at my camp this weekend..grilled cheese sandwiches will be the extent of it.
