Now a Self Serve Rally! See Post #46 - Please!

I am planning a 4th of July rally at Serrano Campground (on the north shore) in Big Bear.  The campground has an RV loop with electrical hookups.

I am told the 4th of July fireworks over the lake are very nice.  Also, the Big Bear Discover Center is down the street, and the town is near by - there should be a lot to do.

If you are interested please let me know  - arriving Thursday the 2nd and departing Sunday the 5th.   Now arriving Wednesday the 1st through Sunday the 5th.

UPDATE AS OF 02-11-09 OF THOSE INTERESTED IN THIS TRIP

1.  58air
2.  Darksiders
3.  Chezway

Is there a group rate?  How much per night?  Do they allow tents on the sites?

We would be interested. Thanks Harald.

go here

http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/Serrano_Ca/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=70533&topTabIndex=CampingSpot

it's thru reserve america so I don't think there are group rates and unless Harold has a different connection that I don't know about he can only get 2 sites so it most likely will be serve rally???

BtW if you google search the names of a campground, there is usually a website that has all the rules, ammenities, tent allowed, group rates etc...

So as I am looking online what area or loop in Serrano campground are you looking at? I have only browsed a few and find non-electric sites? More details please.

Sorry to ask more questions Dee...........  Is this self serve or does the OP have a group reservation?  Is the date to reserve Jan. 1?

Oh and PS:  Don't know if this matters... but the last time I reserved a spot in the big bear area that was through reserve america I ended up calling the campground directly (cause of course I had questions :p) and they (the campgroud) told me its cheaper to book directly through the campground then through reserve america........ because the campground pays reserve america $10 per reservation.  Now I always call the campgrounds that are supported through reserve america first to see if I can go through them ;)

not sure yet?? you'll have to wait for 58air on that but I think reserve america is what it is log on and hope at 8:00:01 get your site..

THIS is a very popular campground AND on a popular weekend....so be ready before 8 am.....It is a nice campground.

Just a note...the bathroom are NOT close to this loop at least when I was there like 5 or six yrs ago

didn't know you can call the campground directly...as I said ...58 air has to answer your questions for sure..

Gracy

I just called and they confirmed what everyone was saying about the 6 months in advance policy.  She said its up to 5 reservations per call.

1 tent and 1 RV per spot ;)  But I forgot to ask her how much the spots were  :p hahaha its to early in the morning for me! hahahaha!!!

cjpoppin

I think the full hook up sites run about $34.00 a night.....and Dee is correct the bathrooms can be a walk unless you camp at the end of the loop then it's just a short walk.....

griffsdad

Harald please reserve a spot for me. Thanks
