As it turns out, I and clearly others were under the impression that we could book tomorrow for this trip.  However, the hookup loop Snowberry is already booked Wednesday July 1st through Sunday July 5th - they started taking reservations today!

So, I am turning this in to a self-serve rally!

I have booked site 111 in the lake view loop.  There are sites open in this loop and other parts of the campground!  These are all non-hook up sites!

I hope everyone still joins us it should be a great time!

Please make your reservations today or as soon as possible so that you do not miss out. :-()

Chez Way

Okay, Harald...sounds like a plan.  We are in site no. 114 from Wednesday July 1 through Sunday July 5.   I'm going to see about adding Sunday night when that day becomes available tomorrow.

58Air

By the way, Happy New Year everyone - I hope you had a special time and that the new year brings all your wishes true.

darksiders

I booked the following day after 58air and chezway and the closest i could get to them is site 27, so that's where we will be
it looks like this is going to be a small rally cuz the cg is nearly full!
good luck to all and hope more of you can get sites.

Lila

I just stumbled upon this group, my little group has been looking for a "club" to hang out with.  We camp often, pop ups and tents.  How funny that we have 6 sites booked for 4th of July weekend.  I wonder if our campfire festivities might blend by the end of the night.  Look forward to meeting you all this summer.  Lila

Hi Lila,  We're just a small contingent from the ScCampers that are camping at Big Bear.  We look forward to meeting you.  There are always plenty of rallys to choose from with this group!  Welcome.

a little info:
CAMPGROUND NAME: Serrano

VISIT DATE: 06/16/2002

UPDATE DATE: 1/30/2008

STATE: California

REGION: Pacific Southwest

RANGER DISTRICT: Big Bear

NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Big Bear Lake

RESERVATIONS: 1-877-444-6777 or make on-line reservation

DIRECTIONS:
In Big Bear Lake, CA, at the intersection of Stanfield Cutoff and
Big Bear Blvd. (State Rt. 18 - on the east end of Big Bear Lake),
take Stanfield Cutoff 0.4 miles to a "T" intersection (State Rt.
38). Turn left onto Rt. 38 and go 1.4 miles to campground sign.
Turn left at sign and go 0.1 miles to another campground sign.
Turn right at sign into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 7,000 ft.

The campground, located within sight of and across the road from
Big Bear Lake, is composed of four loops - Summer Wind,
Snowberry, Evening Star, and Lake View. The primary vegetation
in the campground is Ponderosa and Jeffery pine, and juniper.
The ground is sand/dirt with sagebrush on the roadsides.
Snowberry Loop has full hookups. Except for some "handicap" camp
sites that have a water hookup, the remaining loops have no
hookups. A few camp sites in the Lake View Loop do have a
marginal view of the lake. Summer Wind Loop has the most variety
in topography while Evening Star has the most shade. Privacy
ranges from minimal to fair. The Alpine Pedal Path, a paved
walkway, just outside the campground, provides for a pleasant
morning and evening stroll; mountain bikes are also permitted.
The nearby Big Bear Discovery Center has a wealth of information;
the weekend interpretive programs are excellent and fun for the
whole family. The campground is convenient to the towns of Big
Bear Lake and Big Bear City for exploring, shopping and a cook's
night out. Across from the campground is the Lighthouse Trailer
Resort and Marina with limited groceries and boat rentals. Considered
an "all reservation" campground, reservations can be made at the
campground's entrance if sites are available, as well as on-line.
