Toni and I are going in a couple weeks, other than the chiggers :p what do you think of this place, we've never been there.

Azusateach

I liked it there!  I'd go back in a heartbeat.  We were in an area that W&E, which made it nice.

Let us know what you think -- we might have to try a group thingy there again.

I agree with Laura,

We went there despite the warnings from fellow Sccampers and loved it.  Would go back in a heart beat.  Be sure you check site size though, they differ quit a bit...

It's cooler now so maybe they won't be so bad. I liked that place too

other than searching for doofus :eyecrazy: oh and the bug bites and Kara's scooter wipeout..other than that it was great..

We have a home close to there. It's a beautiful, quiet area. Lots of trees and rolling hills and the CG is nice. Just don't roll in the grass or rub up to the foliage and the chiggers (if there are any) shouldn't bother you.

Let us know when you are going, if we are in the area that weekend, we'll stop by and visit. We were there this last weekend.

The thing that was upsetting about the whole "chigger episode" was that several of us called the park to ask if anyone else had experienced bug bites there. We were all told "No" (that was a little suspicious). That lead me to suspect that they may have been covering up the problem by lying about it. That was rather unpleasant. However, that was a couple years ago now and hopefully they have sprayed the area thoroughly.

No bug bites at all when we were there last year....bring a fishing pole

We were one of the families that camped there with the Scampers and we didn't get any bug bites and loved the camp.  But since then I have met and women that she and her husband work there in the Spring.  They said there are chicgers
and many campers get bit.  I would camp there again, but Dave's a puss and says he doesn't know if he would camp there again.

griffsdad

I love this campground!!!!!

Thanks Everyone !! well be there the weekend of the 23rd, sounds like we should enjoy it.

Dee4j

I think when we went was late spring..he is a theory, those who said they were fine including DK&3kids who wagonmatered that rally after just camping there went in the colder months of jan. or feb. maybe that is the time to go. maybe those little bugger die off or crwal in a hole somewhere when it's cold.....

have fun, let us know how it is.

we are going to the San Gabrial mission on the 24th. Kara has opted (thankfully) not to build a mission but has chosen the option to visit a mission, and be videotaped "reporting" from the mission...

Gracy

Is this in Oceanside?

Thanks for that link.... is it really only $24 per night?  What doesn't partial hookups mean.... is that just no sewer?

This sounds nice... who else is going?
