On some PUs, you can switch to a retractable "Swing Jack".

They just bolt on, they're inexpensive, they often require less cranking and you don't have to remove the wheel before you tow.

I like this one because it has a big 10" tire that would make the trailer easier to move by hand.

I think that 28 3/4" measurement is from the top of the jack. As you can see in the picture, you can adjust the clamp so the minimum height of the trailer tongue is about 12".

The good news is, it looks like NorthernTool may have the center jack that they want.

My '87 Starcraft Nova uses the same drop through style jack, with a wheel at the bottom, of course.

Harbor Freight should have a very similar jack setup, not to mention jsut the parts.

Heads up as well, I switched over to that swing jack, but I have some worries Im tweaking my frame. Check the webshots, and you can judge for yourselves.

Im considering the switch back to the center jack, it will take some new steel plates but the pup is worth it.

Let us know if you find that part Lam
