You're awesome!!! I know there is stuff I need, but won't think of!!!  We are camping with 8,4 & 2 yr. old girls.  Used to camping in a tent, but this is all new for us!!  We are so excited!!

Gracy made a pretty good list for ya so I'll just add to it.. A small table for outside the camper, A "Camp Chef Stove" and Griddle,Coffee pot,Toaster/Toaster Oven, water container, Axe/Saw, Fishing poles and tackle, Broom,Lights for your Awning,Extension cords..{10 gauge} 30 amp extension cord,Water hose,{RV},tool kit,Wheel chocks,Porta-potti, rain poncho,Level,Mat for outside camper, extra propane tank,I also bring a Satellite dish and tripod, Cast Iron cookware, Dorm refridgerator,We also have a "GameBox" a plasic container just for coloring books, crayons, dominos, card games, etc. I let the kids be InCharge of that box so they bring whatever they like if it fits in that box, The list can go on forever. But remember this, Everything you bring takes more time to pack up!!  Tom  P.S. We have "Dedicated" things that stay in the camper, All we do is fire up the fridge,Pack our clothes,Food and hook it up to go.

Bullock1789...you state that you have tent camped, correct ?  If so, start with your camping equipment and add "as you need" to make your camping trips more enjoyable and what "will fit in your pup".  Storage/weight is a real issue with a pup. I would say that one of the most important things is a pad of paper and a pencil...write down what you need/want and aquire before your next campout.  Otherwise ( in a couple seasons ) you will find some things that you have "never" used. Take enough stuff to eat, clean up and sleep, ( kinda like tent camping ) and then add "like-to-haves" little by little. Always keep weight in mind, no fun if you can't drag your pup out of the driveway. Don't stress about what you have to have, just go camping.

:! :# :!, also the DW so we have everything else.;)

Gracy

hahaha I told you I would think of more stuff!

If you have kiddos, we always keep a blow up pool on hand for hot days.
Air pump
Folding table
Coffee maker (non electric)
First Aid kit
Towels
Lots of extra propane canisters
Rain gear (plastic ponchos)
Decretive lights for the canopy

Some people put up flags...... the tall ones or the little garden ones

Some people have those outdoor utensil organizers, they are nice but I haven't invested in one yet.  Outdoor sinks are also really cool... I'd love to have something like that.

Add-a-room is also really nice if you're staying a little longer..... I'd really love to have something like that.

We have 2 cots that we use for outdoor naps... those are nice to have with the kiddos too ;)
Portable fire rings for places you stay without built-ins.

okay I'll be back if I think of more must have items! :)

I agree. If you are used to tent camping then this will be easy for you. Resist the temptation to over do it. Keep it simple is my advice.

North Shore

I always carry a 5 gallon bucket with lid for some extra tools like duct tape, bailing wire, pliers, tent stakes, hammer, rope etc. etc. The bucket itself always seems to come in handy for a step stool, fire killer, dish tub, seat, laundry, wine making..... well you get the point!

Good point...if large things like containers can have more than one purpose you will need less "stuff"...ie...plastic tub for outside toys is also bath tub for kiddies, or 3 cup tupperware bowls are also cereal bowls, etc.

We just got some "organizers" - canvas-like fabric with lots of pockets that I think (hope) will attach easily to the bunk-end poles.  We plan on using them to stash the little stuff like small flashlights, reading lights, a book, small games, our glasses when it's time to crash for the night, etc.  If they don't work, I'll figure out a way to modify them so the DO velcro or snap like I want.  It's where to put all the little stuff that drives me nuts when I'm camping.  We actually found these organizers at Babies 'R Us.  I guess they are really for changing tables or something.  They were on clearance, too.  I guess what I'm trying to say is think outside the box when searching out useful items.  I'll report back after a couple of trips to let y'all know just how much "stuff" I ended up stashing in these things.

Another idea I've seen posted a few times is using a small rubbermaid to hold shoes inside (or just outside) the camper.

A good first aid kit is a must - ours includes stuff for the dog, as well.  And, one other much-used item is a small hand-held vac.  Our state parks all have hook-ups so we always camp with power.  That little vac gets lots of use when it comes to cleaning up the camper.
