Time to head up to the mountains to one of my very favorite trout streams, the upper Nantahala River. It's what is called here in North Carolina as a "wild trout stream" ` and the trout are indeed WILD! Hard to catch vs the hatchery bred trout. But let me tell ya, those wild rainbow trout have a pink tasty flesh that makes all the work getting them worthwhile. And when we're not trout fishing we'll be morel mushroom hunting. Have you ever had wild raianbow trout with sauteed morel mushrooms and grits?

Here's a peak at a favorite stretch of the "Nan" ~

Will be on the road Wednesday.
