Hello all,
I am new to this forum. I have been camping most of my life. I am also in the National Guard and am deploying for the 2nd time to Iraq. I am hoping to get my camping fix by visiting the forum while I am gone. Hope to be back in the camper next year though.

Have a safe tour and Godspeed!  Your family and your camper is waiting for your return. Please do post when you can, even if it is only a 'I am safe' one liner.

I am sure the board subscribers will keep posting trip reports, and share anytything else of interest.

WELCOME TO PUT AND THANK YOU!

As a father of 2 boys (Freshman and Senior in HS next year), I think about them becoming involved in the fight in Iraq and Afganistan quite often. I can't tell you how much it means to me that you and others like you, are over there making it a safer place for them and for all of us.

My Dad was career military. I and my 3 brothers have all served. My oldest brother (15 years older than me) was wounded in Viet Nam and my youngest brother (10 years younger) is still serving in the Air Force. We're proud of our service and yours!

Thanks again! :usflag:

Thank you for protecting us. My son is also over there right now until October. It's the not hearing from him for awhile that scares me more than anything especially when he is in the red zone.  That is why we have to have faith just for their safety.

My heartfelt thanks to you and your unit. Stay safe, and I'll buy you a Coke if we camp together when you get back. I know....very small thanks in the material size.
