Brad,

What amount of food do we need for the progressive dinner? Breakfast potluck we could bring some fruit or some type of breakfast pastry? Let us know if there is not a morning potluck.

Kevin and the whole group

Remember that for each stage of the progressive dinner, that meal item (salad, soup & etc) will have to feed the whole group. we have 17 adults & 8 kids. also please provide the plate or bowel for your item. For the main meal everyone can bring their own plates & silverware. plus remember to bring your drink of choice to each stage of the meal.
Please look at who is bring which meal item (post #1) and the group will start at the appetizers camp site first and then move on to the next item on the menu. For the main dish items, those party's will join forces and have one spot for everyone to meet at. ;)

Recumbentman

We will be bringing an egg dish for breakfast!

May I suggest putting the three main courses next to each other, it might make the food access easier..We will bring a french toast casserole for breakfast.  Do we have assigned spots yet?

Sue Hardee

oops, I see we are in site 14 and no where around the other main courses.  Maybe we could get together at one site and put tables out of food out for the main course.  we could still visit the other courses at their sites.  Or have you got this all figured out and then I will shut up! Who is bringing their Lederhousen?

Quote from: Recumbentman;202814For those not going to the San Eligo campout, I am going to wagon-master an alternate campout on the same weekend.

This is the one time a year where Calico Ghost Town  actually becomes a ghost town.
Bring the whole family for a hauntingly good time. Enjoy costume contests, pumpkin carving, ghost stories, and trick-or-treating for the little ones. And if you dar. . . take a chlling stroll through Maggie's Haunted Mine!

Admission: Adults: $10.00, Juniors (6-15) $5.00 per day; Children 5 & under are free;

We will be staying at the  KOA of Barstow across the Hwy. They have a free shuttle bus to take us back and forth. Heated pool and free Wi-Fi. Full hook-ups $41.85 per night.
I have 10 sites reserved so let me know if you want one. After the 10 sites are gone it will be a self-serve rally.

Edited on 4/13/09
All 10 sites are now taken, if you would like to join in on the fun please contact KOA at (800) 562-0059 and ask for Donna. Tell her that you want to join the sccamper (Lopez) group and make your own reservation. Or ask to be put on the waiting list and take your chances.

**********************************************

I would like to propose a progressive dinner in place of the traditional pot luck for Saturday night, here is how it would work.

Each family would sign up for one segment of the dinner and we would start at one trailer and work our way through dinner going from trailer to trailer....
Does anyone have a "theme" they would like to do? For example, a "Mexican" theme or the "Thanksgiving" theme...etc...any suggestions?

Appetizers: Chez Way, - Oktoberfest appetizer platter

Salad: JamesDad, - green salad

Soup: CJPoppin, - Weisse Bohnensuppe (better known as soup).....also will have a sour dough bread

Main Course: Hardee's, - brats with beer and sourkrout...or maybe german hot potato salad.
Main Course: 58air, - sauerbraten
Main Course: Recumbentman, - meatballs on bed of noodles

Dessert: Darksiders, - Black Forest Cake
Dessert:

We have 8 families...How about two families for Dessert, three for main course & side dishes and one each on Appetizers, salad and soup....any takers?

Brad,

I will bring German chocolate cake for dinner and potato latke's for breakfast.
