My first trip using the camper will be the first weekend in May, so I have some time. But just as a reminder lets go over things to do to get ready. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, what can you add?      shredder

1) I set up and check for mice damage, water, just general inspection
2) install fully charged battery
3)I'll add a cup of bleach to the water tank then flush it out good with two tanks of water then install the water filter, check for leaks
4) I'll fill the water heater and light it
5) start the furnace
6)check inside lights
7) check tires, including the spare, lights, hitch
8) give the bearings a squirt of grease
9) check inside and outside cookstove lines are free and clear then lite same

I don't have all that fancy stuff (battery, furnace, water heater) in my pup, but after you add the bleach in the water tank I would also pump some bleach water through the lines to sanitize them too. Maybe one more thing to add is to grease the hitch and ball.

Yeah those checks are really important!

I hadn't been in our PUT since we got back from our last trip out in OCTOBER!  :yikes:   Lucky I did a run through and opened up the shower/toilet cover and wouldn't ya know there was about 3 inches of water that had been sitting since I don't know when!   :eyecrazy:

There was a moldy cotton tote, moldy shower curtain and my radio sitting in the water :(   Not sure if the radio will work again after sitting sideways in the water....... but I'm just glad I was able to clean the mess up before we got to our destination cause that woulda sucked dealing with it then!   :p

Anyway other then that I just go through my list of what we need and make sure there isn't anything that needs to be replaced or replenished like propane tanks (the small ones), cookware, batteries, blankets, chairs and anything thats a necessity like that ;)

I would also check the tires.  Look to see if there is any rot that needs to be dealt with and check the pressures.

I knew there was a reason I didn't want a shower/toilet in my pop up.
