The middle finger is not a hand signal when trying to hitch up.:D

Setting up your awning and add-a-room for the first time provides great entertainment for your neighbors. Mine pulled up their chairs and watched and laughed.

Remember to COMPLETELY crank up and stow tongue jack before driving down driveway!!!Twice in the past month I have forgotten this key step...fortunately both times I remembered in the nick of time!!

Quote from: GracyThat is a tight spot!!!!!  You have a beautiful PUT!!! ;)

Thanks Gracy. We love our camper and feel very lucky to have it.

As for the spot, the tree on the back corner is 1 inch from my roof and the others on the far side are just inches from all sides of my slide out. I had to cut that big tree down, in front of the camper door so I could get my awning out.. :yikes:  I didn't want to cut it down but where else was I going to put my tacky lights?....Just kidding of course... :D

Quote from: TiffanyWe took our new-to-us PUP out for our first trip in it (an overnighter) the day before yesterday and learned a couple of valuable lessons:

1.)  Don't set EVERYTHING up and then realize you're parked too far away from the hookup for the water hose to reach.

2.)  Don't have your face too close to the water heater when you're lighting it.  (one of my husband's eyebrows is now a little thinner than the other)

You'd think this stuff is just common sense...  I call it "half heimer disease" 'cause it's halfway to alzheimers.

Hey Tiffany.  Let's see some pictures of that '89 Galaxy!

hahahaha but you can totally see that there was no way you could get the awning out!  What a tight squeeze... but you made it work and I'm sure by the looks of where you were you had a great time! ;)

Yep...I've done the popup wheelie thing too. The funny thing is the sensation you are having of moving, but you can't see that you are moving (if your windows are zipped up).

If you let someone else raise the stabilizers check their work.  We got home once and found that all the stabilizers were just inches from the ground.  They were raised but not overcranked which locks them in place.  Now I know why those people in the other lane kept waving and pointing at my PU.  I thought they just liked my camper!

Just learned...when other people wave and point at your camper, stop and check it...

GEEEZZZ!!! I'd never get anywhere.......when you tow a Trailmanor, people are always pointing and waving. The 1st couple times, I pulled over. I soon learned that some people just think it looks cool, like a "Fold-Down House". That's not quite as obvious on most PUs.

That's the whole idea, Wayne.  You need to get out of the way so the rest of us can speed by...

I remember when I saw my first one and the gears kicked in as I tried to figure out what it was, and then how it must "open."   I looked at one in person about 6mos ago, and got to open it up.  That thing was like a rubic's cube on wheels!

My latest one, (and I have done most already posted) is leaving the crank in the PUP.  Luckily someone spotted it.

This thread has given me the much-needed break and laugh I needed.

I hope Dave will put these in the next magazine.
