It's kinda crappy to have to get on my knees on the wet ground to open the drain valve for the freshwater tank under to pup. I decided (last year) to extend out the valve to the left side of the trailer behind the wheel, so that i can get at it to drain it, or to close the valve before filling it. Anybody else do that, and what particular materials and size did you use to run it out?

hey wingdreamer...
i saw a post about extending the drain plug..on either......
popup explorer or popup portal......websites

I extended my drain last year and it was one of the best mods ever.  Just used 1/2" ID pvc, screw in plug, hangers, and valve all from Lowes.  Total cost was under $20 and it works great.  Just remember to angle it down a little bit so it drains well.

Thanks, for the ideas. I went to my local store and bought the pvc pipe, elbows and fitting for the tank. I unscrewed the existing valve from the tank and will reroute it over the weekend. The only thing I couldnt find is a couple of hangers. Where did you get those long white hangers from?
Thanks!! Alan

Alan,

I got them from Lowes.  Here is a link to a 3/4 inch one but they have them in different sizes.

I did essentially as did the others above but because the fresh water tank on my Niagara did not have a side parallel to the side of the pup, i used a piece of flexible clear tubing to join the fitting on the tank to the valve on the side of the pup. It lessened concerns about having to cut rigid pipe to exact lengths and allowed me to have some degree of freedom in selecting where to place the valve.
