ooops never even saw it...went back and it still took me awhile...

I know you have a million issues you're dealing with but when all the important ones are done is there anyway the clock can be set to the correct time??? It's about 5 hours slow

Been gone for a week (camping) and was greeted with the change today when I signed on.  When I clicked on New Posts and read about 5 of the threads, I stopped to post one reply.  Although the reply posted,  I got a database error.  Now the server thinks that I have viewed all the posts that I missed for a week.

I'm sorry about that, I'm trying to get the setting changed to allow for more server connections but for some reason it's turning out to be more difficult than it should be.

Anyone know how to mark all posts read?  I can click on new posts, but when I come back later the same posts come back up.

dno

The closet thing I found... on purpose, so far is "Mark This Forum Read" I'm not sure what it does exactly, but you can get to it from the forum level, currently if your reading this your at the thread level. From the Forum Level there is a title bar that is just uner the "New Thread" link that says "Threads in Forum : [thread name] follow that bar to the right and there are two links "Forum Tools" and "Sear this Forum", click the one that says "Forum Tools" and a drop down menu will popup, slect "Mark This Forum Read".

I'm not sure if this helps do what you want do or now.

Thanks I don't think that is gonna help.  Cause I am looking at a list of new posts since last visit, and not one thread in particular.  I will keep looking maybe I will figure it out...

Got it, you have to go to the main page, scroll to the bottom, and click mark forums read.  If you are looking at "new Posts" you have to click over to the main page to mark them all read.....

Learn something new everyday

:-():-() The clock is the correct time..:-():-()

just one of those things I'm obsessed with. I always have to know what time it is..I even sleep with my watch on...when I had my wisdome teeth pulled my mom said on the way home I'd wake up about every 5 minutes and ask what time it is

So heres my new issue... since PUT and PUX are now on the same server, if one is down they are BOTH down!  How will I get my PUP fix without either one??

dno

That is true, unfortuneately I can't afford to run too many different servers. I currently run two servers, one is mainly for my web design clients and PUX Trading Post, but it does not have near the capacity of the dedicated server that PUX and PUT is on. Putting Put on my server seems to have put me over the top as during peak times I'm getting alot of mysql server connection errors meaning there are not enough connections open.

Last week I upped the total connections to see if that helped and we were fine until today. Today was not as bad as last Sunday but I guess it's not fixed yet. I upped the total again today. We should know on monday if that helped. It's my understanding that there is a side-effect of opening too many connections and that has to do with memory, if I use up all the available ram then we go to the swap drive for more memory which will slow things down. My service provider tells me this is already happening so I may be forced to upgrade my server to one that is faster and has more ram. Of course this bigger better server costs more so I'm really hoping the first solution will work.

Ideally I would like to have the PUT stuff on a seperate server but that will have to wait until things settle down and we know where we end up financially.

I guess I need to explore the new server, opening connections dose not seem to be getting us where we need to be.

One thing we did at QuattroWorld was to open up to donations via Paypal.  Doesn't take much from each person to help offset some of your operating costs.

Donating members were given a bit of code they could put in their signature lines which generated a cool little "Contributing Member" insignia.
