Well.......if everyone wants to, we could make the P/L later but Sunset is at 5:PM. It's going to start getting cold by 6-6:30.......

What time do you anticipate returning???

We'd go for later, but then we usually never eat before 7 or so.

I'm planning on packing the generator with some lights, plus a couple of propane heaters. With one or two EZ-ups and some tarps we can build ourselves a small enclosure to contain the heat. Our EZ-up has sidewalls. Anyone have one we can add to it?

Oh. And for potluck we are currently thinking a nice hearty soup. Not sure what kind; depends upon what the chef in the house comes up with. We'll also have some bread or rolls with that.

Is there a firepit at this site or should we bring a portable?

There's a great fire pit right on the edge of the cliff, over-looking the ocean and built-in benches. There's a bunch of covered tables for the potluck:

Hoagie good idea, maybe you could tarp the esisting gazedo and maybe a wall or two and not have to deal with an ezup that will blow away.

If not we have an ezup with walls I think, never used them...

As for dessert and drinks, I think I meant that drinks ARE dessert.  OR maybe a dessert drink?  We'll see....

Naked eye. It'll be the brightest thing in the northern sky.

When it's higher in the sky (on other nights) you can actually make out the solar panels with a pair of binoculars.

It is so neat we saw it the last time it came by up here with our grandkids and they were so excited.....Me too and Wayne is correct it will be the brightest thing in the sky and very easy to spot....

This is actually not a good weekend to view the ISS. It will only be about 10 degrees above the horizon and last a short time.

Tonight (Jan 4th) is actually a far better night to view it. From Orange County (most of SoCal), it will come up in the SSW sky @ 6:53PM and climb to 47* in the SE sky, then travel to the ENE horizon and disappear 6:57PM and it will be very bright.

Sounds like the mountain range will block our view up here??
