We couldn't stand it any longer. We had to have a new TV that the grandkids could ride in.

It's a 2006 Chevy Silverado, extra-cab with 8' bed. 5900# tow rating and 12,000# GCWR. That will give us over 7,000# capacity for trailer, passengers, cargo and fuel. I think that should be sufficient for our 4000# TrailManor. Our S10 PU was a great vehicle but a little light for that heavy trailer (although the S10 actually had a higher tow rating.....go figure.....).

We went out and found this one today. It has a really unique roller bed floor. I think it will be great for loading and unloading our camping gear (and firewood, which was always a hassle). It has side cabinets as well that can be accessed from the opening side windows of the camper shell.

We're really excited about it. Carolyn got it for me for my birthday.......whenever that is....:D

Can't wait to go camping.

Let us be the first to say Congrats on the new TRUCK.,,,,,, Way cool.:U
How many lbs will the roller bed hold when it's all the way out?
Can't wait to see it in person........:)

NICE!!! I likey the bed!  be careful not to pinch the grandkids fingers in those rollers when you load them in, or were you going to actually let them ride insisde were its nice and clean.

Really nice TV. I especially like the roll-out bed. My previous TV had a camper shell, and it was always a PITA to load and unload. I don't care how height challenged you are, there was no way to be in there without being on your hands and knees (OH my aching back and knees!!! :%)

Congrats on the new TV.  I'm sure you'll put it to good use.  Have fun.

Good looking truck there! I hope it did not break the bank Mr. Treasuer! Sure was nice of your wife to fix you up with a roll out bed in the truck.

I am not hip to the reduced visibilty or blind spot that the inside has the storage areas. I had an el camino with a camper shell on it and noticed the blind spots immediatley.

 Congradulations and happy towing!

The roller bed will handle 100# on the very outer end, fully extended, easily. I'm thinking, pull it out, load the firewood & heavy stuff on the way-back part, slide it half-way in (it latches in different places) an load the genset & smaller stuff. Roll it all the way in and close the tailgate.

I was thinking that we could even use that thing as a table at the campsite.:D

We already loaded the side cabinets with all of our misc stuff, hoses, ext cords, Lynx levelers, etc in the side cabinets. It'll be so cool to not have to sort all that crap out at the campsite.:-()

We picked up the truck this afternnon and had to stop and put gas in it.........then I remembered why I liked the S10 so much. It was $75 to fill that thing up.....I know that most of you are used to that but to us, it was "STICKER SHOCK".

Last year you did not go to Lake Lopez because of the cost and then that weekend you wound-up buying the Trail manor. Now this year you did not go to smithwoods because of the cost (again) and look at what you bought this time ;) So you see that in reality, it would be cheaper for you to come to the sccamper rallies then to stay home and save money..... LOL

PS very nice looking truck :D what size engine and how many miles
