Bought a new truck today!  Nice!  We've ordered a 2009 Chevy Silverado 3500.  It's a 1 ton diesel dually with crew cab.  Not many options, we didn't have to, most are included.  We'll get it with everything that has to do with towing.

Still, it's a pricey truck.  Our first 2 houses cost less.  It's a lot of truck, though.  No problem getting a parking place.  If anything's in the way, this thing will move it.  We should have it by late Sept./early Oct.  Where should we go for Columbus Day weekend?

Congrats and good luck with the new TV.
One question though, will it be able to tow that PU of yours?  LOL :D

Well, there's more to the story than just buying a truck.  I'm due to retire in a few years.  Our goal is to sell everything and full time for a while.  Not sure how long.  We've looked at motorhomes and fifth wheels and decided the fifth wheel option is much better cost-wise and still giving us very nice accommodations, even considering the cost of the truck.  We did dress out the truck considering how much we'd be using it.  So, we've got the truck, now the search goes to a camper.  I figure to give it a couple years before we buy the camper.  In the meantime, we should get considerably better fuel mileage towing our current travel trailer.  We also have a popup we're trying to sell.  That we could put in the bed of this beast.  Who needs to tow!

I'm sure you will love the Duramax/Allison combo. All good reports on them.
