Coleman water problem

A few weeks ago we camped with hookups, and after I hooked up the water and turned everything on, I had NO WATER at all at the tap or anywhere else.  I tried a bunch of stuff, including filling the tank and running the pump no good.  I then checked the screen in the pump and put it back on, and suddenly had water.  Never really solved the mytery as to why I didn't have water.

Now this weekend we went to a CG with no water so I filled the tank, and went to use the pump and it wouldn't work.  The motor ran, and it sucked some water but wouldn't run through the faucet.  I suspect I may have screwed up the pump when I had the water issue the first time, OR the two are related and I haven't put my finger on the actual cause yet.

Its a Shurflo pump, any suggestions?

Have you checked the traps on the faucet?  If those get filled up with mineral deposits it can look like you've got a pump problem.

ya but I didn't have water at the faucet or the outside shower at smithwoods

Sounds like a pump problem, or a plumbing problem in the area of the pump.  A check valve may be acting up.  Usually, city water and the tank/pump combos are different supply systems.  I would expect one or the other to work OK.  Still, I'd still suspect somethings amiss right in the area of the pump.  Can you open up that area and inspect?

Does your PUP have a water heater?  If so, check the bypass.

I use an inline water filter (blue thing from Wal-mart - about $18.) as I've had crud come through the hose and clog my lines.  Rather clog the filter as it's much easier to flush and use.
