Some of us were talking about bringing our kayaks to Casitas.......looks like that's not allowed:

ATTENTION BOATERS!! – As of March 4, 2008, due to the potential threat of invasive species, Lake Casitas has RESTRICTED ACCESS TO ALL VESSELS entering the park. All Vessels must be Inspected and complete a 10-day Quarantine before being allowed access to the lake. Boat rentals are available. For the most current information, please call 805-649-2233, extension 6.

We will do a DO chicken casserole main dish for dinner.

At San Clemente, we had an informal breakfast potluck. That was kind nice on the last day, to get together before preparing to leave. The 1st morning at camp, all we want to do is sleep in :morning:.

As long as the potluck is not on Friday morning, we'll do a "Egg Fritata".:sombraro:

Yeah you left us out of that one too!!  ha ha.

We don't like to cook the last day, we do something easy like doughnuts or something, so we don't have to clean up.  Makes sun a little easier.

Wavery did you call the offie for more info?  Maybe kayaks are not susceptible to this rule if the hulls and bilges are dry.  Maybe call for confirmation about it.  Couldn't hurt.

I did call. They said that not even tubes can go in the water. Kayaks must be inspected and quarantined for 10 days........

JohnandLeann

Darn Wavery.  Sorry

Malena

We had lots of fun during the breakfast, so we'll definitely do that again.  We'll prepare hash browns.

The Zebra/Quagga Mussel invasion is heating up and the measures that are going to be implemented to try and slow the spread are going to be pretty strict. These things are not visible to the naked eye as larva, yet can grow to 2 inches as adults. Adults can release over 1 million larva during a breeding season. And there are no natural predators in our waters. (They came from Europe in the 80s.) Worst thing about them is waters like Lake Casitas is they can infest the waterway so fast they can actually block off the intakes where water is pumped out for our domestic supplies. Some of the aqueducts in California have had to be drained and cleaned. And the darn things can live out of water for up to 30 days!!

Any space available?

This is a self-service rally. So go to post #1 and call to see if there are any openings.

Good Luck
