Give him a warm welcome when he passes the entrance exam.

Hi Carl,

I just talked to Robert. I asked him to send me a check for $58.50. He seemed a bit put off by that but I just left it alone. He stated that he would be happy to bring the cash to the camp-out but that is just simply not a reasonable request IMO.

I don't know how well you know this person and I didn't want to offend a friend of yours so I'll just leave it to you to let him know that this is the way that it is done, even with people that are SCCAMPERS members and we have camped with for years.

I would never even dream of having someone hold a reservation for me without paying them in advance (just like I did with you that time). I can cancel the reservation and get most of my $ back. However, if I don't cancel and this person is a "No show", I'm out $58. That's just not acceptable nor is it reasonable for someone to ask that of someone. $15 for a reservation cancellation doesn't bother me.

I hope that he understands that, because if I don't have his check by Wednesday, I will cancel the reservation. If he shows up, expecting to have a camping spot, he will be sorely disappointed.

Thanks for your help,

Wayne.

Haven't heard any talk about pot lucks are we doing them both?
I'm planning on a egg dish for breakfast and not sure yet about the dinner yet.........

paspilot

A most important subject- potluck food
For breakfast, I'll do those mini-sausages yet again, since they are a required food group for my older son.

I haven't made up my mind about dinner.  I'm pondering grilled fish, but haven't gotten my head around how I'm going to feed the masses.  I don't think I can serve a whole fish, with a pair of chopsticks and expect everyone to dissect a serving.
Feedback welcome- I don't recall seeing fish served at a potluck. Is there a reason?

I'll have my niece and her boyfriend with me, hopefully, she will have ideas...
(Actually, we call each other cousins, since I'm not willing to act my age, and we talk like we're peers. In the short term, it's less confusing for my kids too.)

I think I've got a co-worker friend threatening to join us too, more once the details are sorted out.

For you satellite viewers......here is the schedule for the International Space Station. It can be seen every day on this camp-out in the NW sky. The 15th will be the best viewing @ 9:38PM. It will be visible for about 2 1/2 minutes and it will be pretty bright even though it will only be 10 degrees above the horizon.

I feel your pain my friend.  We just had ours go out 3 weeks ago.  Thank heavens for the deep freeze in the garage and trailer fridge.  I am so glad we had our camper on site next to our house.  But I have to admit, by the time the new fridge came, I was tired of going out to the camper for the butter or milk.

We went to good ole Sears.  We got a huge Samsung side by side.  My first fridge with water and ice in the door.  I love it.  My only thing I would say not to get is a Maytag.  We bought all new appliances when we moved North and each one of them has self destructed in 5 years.  Every month I have had to buy an appliance.:(
