Wayne - I just (finally) got the charge controller for the solar panel.  It is the same one you linked to above.  I have a question regarding hookup, if you don't mind.

The instructions show that the battery and load (camper in our case) are seperated by the controller.  Is this how you connected it?  I thought it would just have an input from the panel, and output to the battery.  The third pair of connectors for the load surprised me.

We are two days away from leaving for Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone, and of course I am just now building the panel support and doing the hookup . . .

Thanks.

The wires from the solar panels go to the far left 2 connectors. The wires to the battery go to the next 2. If you want to run a load like lights or sprinklers from the controller (which you probably don't) you could wire those to the next 2. I just left those blank.

If it is more convenient to run the power to the camper from the controller than directly from the battery, I guess that you could put the wires to the camper in those last 2 connectors.

Be careful to keep the polarity straight.

Understood.  Thanks a lot.

We can't wait to hit the road!
