I actually saw someone write to the register and ask "if they furlough the teachers, what happens to the students?"

Of course if there are no teachers on campus, they are no kids either.  Day care and parents taking care of students will become an issue.

Good thing I have a great statement in my contract, "If your employer is closed to you, I am also closed and it becomes a paid holiday for me".  Gotta check if we have furlough days in Ventura!

Since we can talk about anything here I've got 6 Sago palms and was wondering if anyone else has them and if so do you fertilize them and with what.

Sagos respond well to manure and most lawn fertilizers. They need lots of light and soil that drains well. They get root-rot if planted in rich soil. They don't like a lot of water either.
