This campground is located on highway 154, twelve miles south of Solvang, and 18 miles north of Santa Barbara.  It is strictly a FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED campground.

It offers FULL HOOK-UPS, but avoid those because they are mostly full-timers with satallite TV receivers on concrete and very close together.

There are about 35 water/electrical sites.  Nothing to write home about, but functional.

There are hundreds of dry sites and some of them are incredibly nice.  Don t be fooled into thinking they are all visible from the roads.  Some have private drives that go down to sites that are carved out of the hillsides and overlook the lake.  There are also a number of sites to the right of the main campground, down a hill and in a cove that is shaded from high westerly winds.

Showers are general clean, give a good amount of time for your quarter, and have always been hot for me.

Want a place in central California that you can go on a LAST MINUTE WHIM, Cachuma Lake could fill the bill.

Hybrid Holly

gsm x2Hey guys, looks like you had fun!  Where are our other posts?  Am I blind?

Surfcal

 gsm x2Hello Hybrid Holly:

I guess they are still working on the Camping Club section, but since you are here and some of the Nick-Neff-Coughs, we might as well gather here temporarily.  We re kind of like traveling Gypsies, going from thread to thread anyway.

Last time we had too many threads going it was hard to keep up.

gsm x2It s in our NNC nature to have conversations going on in 12 different places.  A phone up to each ear, fingers at a keyboard, while talking to the person in the room with you.  No problem.
I still refuse to use these weird little faces, ha.

Red neff Barchetta

gsm x2Btw Ray, are you joining us at Slim s in 10 days?

Surfcal

gsm x2Hey, thanks for reminding me.  Did you get the tix from BASS?  Or a Tower Records?  Let me know.

 Surfcal

P.S.  Where s Sactocampers?  He hasn t logged in at all.  Do you think he s intimidated by the new board?  Or is he 4-wheeling in his minivan?  Y-Guy is out of the loop.  Otter still has to check in.  I ve seen 6-Quigs, CWB and Sammyslave.  It s like herding cats around here.

LOL!  It is like that!  I feel like we were all torn apart during some chaos on a cruise or something like that and now I m trying frantically to locate everyone, ha.

Get tix @ the Slim s website.  Get " will call"  tix and you ll only spend $22.00 per ticket.

SactoCampers

gsm x2I m here! I just logged on yesterday and looked around, didn t get a chance to say anything. Looking forward to having the camping club section up and running.

Hybrid Holly

 gsm x2Hello,
Good to hear from some of you.   I have been very lonely.  I want to hear some stories about the camping trip.  Skunks?  any close encounters?  Is it unappropriate for us to chat on this forum?

Surfcal

 gsm x2Hybrid Holly:

Sammyslave has a story about this little kid that picked up a dying crow and he was running around with it, when suddenly hundreds of crows started to fill the sky, they were all upset and blocked out the sun.  Then a hawk showed up to join the fray.  The crows started to make noises and it looked like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock s The Birds.

Geoargeanne and Dianne, led by Rita went to Solvang and did a shopping marathon (11am-4pm).  They came back to the campground with a truckload of porcelain dolls.  They must have cleaned out that one store.

And Sammyslave was beseiged by some " bubbles."   You have to ask him about that, none of us really saw the attack, but he claims that bubbles appeared everywhere and surrounded him.  When Lon and I showed up, the " bubbles"  had apparently gone away.  I think he had a little too much Bailey s in his coffee.

A 50ft motorhome parked next to my tiny one-sided camper and cast a shadow on my site.  I felt like installing a basketball hoop on the side of the truck, it was like a huge wall.

Well, those are some of the NNC updates from Cachuma Lake.  Hope this fixes your boredom.

 Surfcal

P.S.  Sactocampers, I ve now joined your ranks as a fellow that has a 9"  TV/DVD combo unit in his camper, a nice NNC accessory to keep up with the Joneses.

Hybrid Holly

gsm x2Bubbles?  Dolls?  Was this trip G-rated?  Bummer about the shadow, Surfcal...last time a big rig like that parked by you, you ended up partying with them til dawn.

SactoCampers

 gsm x2Ray,

 What about the Electripac?

P.S. the TV/DVD player came in handy on the way back from Reno over X-mas. Stopped at Babies R Us to make an exchange and lil  Baby SactoCampers didn t wanna get back into the car seat. Turned on some Baby Einstein (courtesy of the 9"  Broksonic TV/DVD combo) and she was good for the rest of the drive home.

But Sunday was another story. TV/DVD player had a minimal effect on her disposition, which makes me somewhat weary of our drive to Palm Desert and San Diego next month [:o][&:].

 Maybe,
but that will never stop us[8D]

 Glad I found everyone here.

Looks like our NNC forum has gone quiet now that this one is up & running.

 Surfcal,
glad you got the photo of you in shorts sunning yourself, before the 60  motorhome pulled in
