 gsm x2Hello everyone,
Glad we are finding some places to hang until they get our club site up and going.  Sacto, I don t envy you at all having a child that does not travel well.  We got a good test this week driving to and from Tucson.  Hunter did great, only cried when hungry or in need of changing.  All in all it was not bad.  The only problem was that he likes his bottle warm so we had to stop at places with microwaves to heat up the water.

 Only two weeks to Chabot!

QuoteLooks like our NNC forum has gone quiet now that this one is up & running.

It sure was nice having that while the change took place.  A big thanks to Steve for putting that together

QuoteI still refuse to use these weird little faces, ha.

Neff, are we going to have to send you to therapy over these faces?[:D]  I think you have mentioned it in just about every thread you ve posted in.[:)][:D][;)]

LOL!  They even haunted me in my sleep last night!  Maybe you can help talk me through this over a Pale Ale at Chabot, ha.  I checked out the " other"  site where some PUT ers have gone to and they use the same faces there.  I thought " Man, those are strange looking.  Glad we don t have to use them over at PUT."   Then I log on here and just about fell out of my chair, ha!  Oh well, they are kind of like using a crutch and make it too easy to not have to describe yourself with words.

Sounds good to me!  With all the punishments, ceremonies and now therapy which all include Pale Ale, we might as well bring a keg[8D]

Got my tickets today for 1/11 Dixie Dregs concert.  I live only about 15 blocks away so I just went to the ticket window.  I think a couple of my buddies are coming.

We should all meet up at a bar near here, then head out to Slims together.  I suggest 21st Amendment (nice name huh?  for the repeal of the Prohibition), which is on 2nd Street, between Brannan and Bryant near the PacBell Park, soon to be named SBC Park.

Nick s been to the 21st Amendment and he liked their beers, it s a microbrewery.

Let me know what your plans are buddy.

Quoteglad you got the photo of you in shorts sunning yourself, before the 60  motorhome pulled in

Ray s totally posing in that picture! Do you see the angle that shot is taken at?

Here s how it really went (I can just visualize Ray s conversation with himself now):

1.) " Hmm, what would be a good picture for my PUT profile?"
2.) " let s see, I m not sure. What about a picture illustrating me in deep relaxation and thought, pondering my forthcoming position as Nick-Neff-Cough Worthy Consul."
3.) " Great idea Surfcal. You re so darn smart, charming, and handsome!"
4.) " Okay, now that I know what I m going to do, how can I make it not just a picture....but more like...... art"

Narrator: At this point, Ray reaches back into the depths of his TV production background and finds a source of inspiration....enlightenment if you will

5.) " I got it! I ll set the camera on the ground, propped at a slight angle with a rock, and set the timer! The effect will be wonderful! You re a genius Surfcal! The great ones are never appreciated in their lifetime!"

Narrator: So Surfcal bellies up to the ground to look through his viewfinder, centers the crosshairs over the vacant chair and carefully takes into account the paralax viewing error plaguing most cameras. Meanwhile, he brushes off all evidence of organic material from his t-shirt and right cheek.

 6.) " Okay, the camera s set, timer s set.."  <click> " Go!go!go!"

Narrator: Surfcal, reminiscent of Edmin Moses in the 440 hurdles, hustles back to the chair, fully aware he has but a scant 10 seconds to collect himself and appear at ease....relaxed

7.) <gasp!> <gasp!> " Man, that was a long run! Okay, settle down. Act cool. Act cool. Act introspective. Quick, look toward the sky! Cross the legs darnit! That s it!"  <click> " YES!!"

Narrator: ...and with a fist pump to the air, Surfcal narrowly defeats his duel against the camera timer as we conclude this suspensful documentary of Surfcal s seemingly candid snapshot of himself for his PUT profile picture.

In the absence of a direct challenge, Surfcal would have us believe that somebody else took the picture of him. But we know better, because nobody in their right mind would lay on their stomach to take that picture *FOR* him. And so the truth behind the innocent-looking picture is exposed, and thus the world is not quite as innocent as it was yesterday.

[;)][;)][8D][:D] All in jest, of course, as it is a pretty good picture.

 SactoCampersSactocampers:

I have LOLed before, but my friend, you are my first LOFLMAO.  You know it.  No one took that picture except me.  You are wrong about propping it on a rock.  I actually brought a specialty tripod, about 6 inches high for that Hollywood shot.  You see the distinct shadows?  That s timed just right to give everyone the impression that it s always sunny here in Coffee-lornia.

I shot a lot of them, looking for the perfect shot of me for my profile picture.  In fact, I showed a number of them to Sammyslave and he couldn t figure out why I had shot so many pictures of myself.  And I figured the action shot of me perched precariously 1000 feet above Yosemite Valley while scaling El Capitan would have been too adventurous for this group.  Not!

Hang out with me sometime Sacto and walk on the wild side.  Too funny.

SactoCampershmmm, maybe we need to re-evaluate some of Ray s other photos?

Red neff Barchetta

SactoCampersBrian - LOL!  That was great!

Ray - The " 21st. Amendment"  sounds perfect for our group!  Do they have food also?  Actually, hops are all I really need, ha.  Should we pick a time to meet there or somewhere else, and then head over there?  It would be great to be able to park one time upon arrival within 4 or 5 blocks of Slim s and then just hoof-it around after that.
There are 8 (maybe 10) of us coming.  You will absolutely love this show.  These guys are so amazing, I will never miss them again.

Holly - Any chance you can make it?

gsm x2

SactoCampersOK, so now G-whiz is sitting over there laughing.

Must be on the boards.  [8D]

 SactoCampersHello All!!!
My first new post in 2K3!!!
I m finally done selling all of those digital cameras- now I just have to answer all of the questions as to hook them up to their computers.
Glad to hear that all had fun at the SoCal Rally. We celebrated new Year s in Disneyland.

Having fun finding all the new look areas of PUT[:)]

Hybrid Holly

SactoCampersHey Jeff, I am still considering it, but  I probably won t be able to get Pete out of the 21st Amendment.  Even if we don t make it, we might have to check out that place.

sammyslave

gsm x2As usual I got to take home more goodies than I came with..

A very nice powder blue tablecloth. (GSMX2)?
A matching blue ebay coffee cup. (Surfcal)?

Next time the campsite will include a few indelible marking pens for identification of personal belongings.

Surfcal

SactoCampersYes, the eBay coffee thingy is mine.  How much do you want for it?  I ll put in a bid.

Nick

SurfcalNeff, I highly recomend 21 Amendment.  Great place and best of all great beer.  The cream of cauliflower soup was not bad either.
