Hybrid Holly

SactoCampersHey Larry, maybe you could auction things off or act as a pawn shop....make a few bucks....and buy something nice for Rita!  or more food and drink for our camping trips!

g-whiz

sammyslaveI think Holly s auction idea is a good one, Larry.  See how much you can get for that " very nice"  powder blue tablecloth.  Try to cover up the melted part on it and maybe you ll get more.   Hi to Rita!!!!!

Surfcal

SactoCampersLarry s been awfully quiet.  I bet he s working on that online project that he s been scheming.  Yup Larry, I like that idea of making money while camping.  I d like to sign up as your first employee!

P.S.  Where s everyone?  It s too quiet around here.  I ve spent the whole day deshnitzifying my PopUp.  A buddy of mine laid down one of those hi-tech composite tongue and groove hardwood looking floors in the trailer.  It is so sweet looking.  Then we ripped out the icebox that I never use except for storage and put a microwave oven in the space.  Tomorrow we will figure out the electrical system.  That way I don t have to string an cigarette lighter jury-rigged thing from my truck to the trailer (as Nick had suggested).

For the future, I want to figure out how to put in one of those mini-stereo systems so it s built in, but that ll come later.  I also have an extra Direct TV satellite dish and tuner unit that I can mount on the trailer, any ideas on this from anyone?

Because of Sactocampers, I got one of those 9"  TV/DVD combo thingies.  Then Sammyslave gave me the idea of putting in a heated mattress pad.  My camper is getting pretty tricked out!  I m going nuts with this thing.

SactoCampers

 SactoCampersJeez Ray,

It used to be all about simplicity for you, now it s all about luxury! But hey, the more comfortable you are, the more fun is camping. Next thing you know, you might be looking at a larger popup!

What you ve got on your floor is residential grade laminate floors...likely floating on top of the linoleum(?). So long as you have clearance to open your cabinets, that s a pretty cool idea. With all the luxury items you re adding, I expect to see you grilling filet mignon medallions with hollandaise sauce, a side of vegetables, a spring salad, pate, and brie & crackers on Sunday in the Candlestick parking lot. You re so Northern California. [;)]

g-whiz

SurfcalMaybe Larry s project is " collecting"  things from others and then auctioning them off at the NNC-Bay.  If you work for him, Ray, you might have to become a " collector" .  [;)]

As for your camper, all of your desnitchifying (did I spell that corrrectly?) sounds good as long as you leave the sides in their original canvas/vinyl motif.

And now for a technical question....  Is the translation of NNC, Nick-Neff-Cough OR Nick-Neff-Coff?   I need to know the politically correct title.  I saw that the site is Nick-Neff-Cough.org but I was sure that the COFF part meant, something like, Contingent Of Friendly Folk. [&:]

BTW Neff, I kinda like these little faces!  [8D]

Red neff Barchetta

SactoCampersRay - If you paid any money at all for your laminate floor deduct 10 NNC points!  Even though I mostly deal with the real McCoy, I could have gotten you enough for your PU in any color, pattern, or shape you wanted.  You could have had a " Marble"  or " Slate"  laminate floor to really up the value of your rig.  When someone is camped next to you now, does that bring up the value of their rig also?  We re going to have to get you a sign for your PU that says " Welcome to the Waldorf Astoria" .  What would your back-packing friends think of you now if they saw your luxury cruiser, ha?

g-whiz - Some of the faces are starting to grow on me too.  Some of them though are just weird.  What is up with this, - [:D] or this - [: (]?!  They look like some editorial cartoon from the 40 s or 50 s depicting the " Evil Empire"  laughing at us, lol.
Btw, it is great to have you join us here I must say.

My lovely G-whiz...According to the Website, our official title is:

North Central California Non-Exclusive PopUp & Hybrid Camping Organization of Friendly Folks

Which would of course be:  NCC-NEPH-COFF  However, early in the organization it was said that it is pronounced Nick-Neff-Cough.  And with the adoption of the Official www.nick-neff-cough.org website, I think that has become the essentially accepted way to say and pronounce it.

Of course, it doesn t make a lot of sense to me, but that doesn t mean I can t embrace it.

Red neff Barchetta[:D] This guy reminds me of a doctor I used to work for.  He was bald with those little tufts of hair sticking out just like on this guy.  When he laughed, his eyes disappeared.  I m holding back LOLing just so Scott doesn t say... What????   This guy [: (] reminds me of how I looked and felt when I was pregnant for my youngest child.  Maybe the artist was a woman, who had children and was married to a doctor?  This is the one that baffles me.... [>:]  What are those coming out of his head????  Chopsticks???

 SactoCampersG-whiz and GSMx2,
 I have to ask,
do you both use the same computer,
or are you both at home,
 in different rooms,
 communicating with each other,
as Scott explains the history of NNC,
 through this message boards??

 Neff,
If the faces only had an explaination as to what they are supposed to mean, it might help,
Like, what is this guy supposed to mean[>:]
 Your fly is open?
 or this one[: (]
 The soup tastes awful?

SactoCampersOK--good question....what are these face trying to depict.  Here is my thoughts.  I am sure others have others.

[:)] = Two weeks until the next NNC camping outing

[8D] = Mermossas in the morning, beer sitting around in the afternoon, wine with dinner, Bailey s at night.

[&:] = How many more hairpin turns to Mount Madonna???

[:(]  = " G-whiz, have you seen my sunglasses?  I ve looked all over and I can t find them."

[>:] = Andy Rooney using mousse to control his eyebrows; as if there was THAT MUCH MOUSSE in the world to control Andy Rooney s eyebrows.

[:D] = " Ah, nothing like a nice warm shower at home"

[;)] = " No rocks in my back; no bugs in my bag.  Love sleeping in the PU."

 [:@] = " I think I got a little windburned at Bodega Bay."

[: (] = Cartoon depiction of what I look like sneezing----but needs to be MUCH LARGER

[:o] = Hmmm, ran out of creative thought....need some help with this one.

We are in the same room, sitting back-to-back, each with our own computer.  I posted that question while he was watching the football game since I didn t want to interrupt his cheering out there in the living room.  When the game was over, I watched Dateline and I guess he didn t want to interrupt me so posted the answer.  It really is better that way anyway because if he just would have told me I would probably just forget what he said and now I have a record of the answer.  I am a granny, you know!!!!  6QuigsKevin,

We have two computers in the same room and we sit back to back to each other.

Oh, did G-whiz answer this???  Guess she did.

OC Campers

 g-whizHi everyone--

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed meeting everyone at Lake Cachuma.  We were very lonely when everyone left.  I guess next time we will have to get there on time.

Scott thanks so much for your technical support.  Now I am not so frazzled.

Ray, your popup sounds awesome.  I think it is the cutest thing I have ever seen to begin with.  I want you to kow the view was horrible after you left.   2 class C
motorhomes pulled in with a ton of people.  Then they strung caution tape in front of their MH so their kids new when to stop and not go in the road.  What a sight to see!

Larry and Rita, thanks for the culinary feast.  I think we went home with more food than we came with.  We ate spaghetti for 2 days after everyone left.  I guess that is a good thing about being the last ones at the CG-LEFTOVERS!!!  Yumm.

I sure wish we were at Cachuma this week.  It is so warm outside.  We froze our buns off every night.  My parents came up for a visit on Monday (former Michiganders) for the day, they ended up leaving after dinner because they were cold.  PANSY" S.

We did end up going wine tasting.  We went to the Firestone vineyard.  Wow, fantastic wine and not a lot of cash.  Mine and Randy s wine of choice is one we get at Trader Joe s for a $1.99, but we did break down and by some Chenin Blanc and a red zinfandel.  I can t wait to break into our stash.

Now that is just ridiculous!  They probably don t even relax when they " camp"  with rules and limitations like that.

g-whizNCC members are like hobos.  We ve totally hijacked this thread from an innocent and well intentioned campground review to a total Chit Chat forum.  Scott, I like your depiction of the faces.  You should post that in the General Forum.  Everyone ll get a kick out of it.

Neff & Sactocampers, here s a link to the desnitzifying project we are doing.  Whew, carpentry is hard work, or should I appropriately say watching someone work totally exhausted me.  If you notice the entry time, it s totally nuts.  I took my buddy out for dinner and some beers after the project and passed out I think at 8:00 pm.  Now I am totally up at 2:00 am in the morning.

Georgeanne, I don t understand the name either.  But do you realize that what we ve done is derive Nick-Neff-Coff from North Central California Non-Exclusive PopUp & Hybrid Camping Organization of Friendly Folks.  OK, so the acronym of that is NCCNEPHCOFF which is pronounced Nick-Neck-Cough.  Then, we took the pronunciation and made it into a sub-official name and we further whittled it down to it s current incarnation of NNC.  It totally doesn t make any sense, but then again, that s Nick-Neff-Cough, the Middle Earth of PUT (PopUPTimes).

 Attention OC Campers:

I know what you mean about Motorhomes.  They like to park beside my tiny camper.  Next to mine, they look like those Spaceships from Independence Day, the movie.  Anyway, I don t think you ve seen our pictures from Cachuma Lake.  Here s the link to that.

It s now 2:30 am.  I think I ll go for a drive and eat at an IHOP or Denny s.
