Im wondering if any one has heard of or been to holiday shores campground at the dells. Or any other campgrounds in the area thanks

cailin52I can t say that I ve ever been there nor heard of Holiday Shores, but I live practically next door to the Dells.  If you want some information on any specific campground, I can probably get it for you easily and mail it to you.

Just let me know, I would be happy to do it[:)]

The only campground that I have been too that I would consider close to the Dells would be Yukon Trails Campground which is in Lyndon Station.  I would say its probably 10-15 minutes north of the Dells.  It is a nice CG and I would go there again.  It is off the " beaten path"  a little bit so its nice and quiet.  They have rustic sites and some short hiking trails.  They have a swimming pool as well as a lake for swimming (although I don t think I would swim in the lake).  It is a clean campground and the owners are friendly.

cailin52We camped at Mirror Lake S.P. a couple of years ago.  Also, drove through the Yogi cg.....small sites and way too close to the interstate for me.  Wish I d known Carol a couple of years ago.  It would have been fun to meet a PUT er up there.

cailin52We visited the dells about 2  years ago & had the best vacation to date.  The kids all enjoyed it.  We stayed a little north of the dells in Stand Rock Campground.  Sites were a bit close together but it was away from the hustle & bustle of the dells but close enough to head in each day.

 Enjoy!

cailin52I would not recommend Holiday Shores unless you are looking for nonstop entertainment for the kiddos.  The sites are small and the neighbors get rowdy.  The staff is busy -- basically in the height of the summer season it looks like a scene from Mad Magazine with kids running around, waterskis, bikes, motorbikes, golf carts, and don t forget the twice a day fire engine rides where all the kids drench the adults.

There s a site just north of Holiday Shores that we found we liked.  Very wooded, roomy sites, also along the river.  The bathhouse was far off but there were ample porta johns.  I ll check the home files tonight to see if I can find the name of it.

Del-Boo is also a nice, small CG.  Owners real friendly, nice enough sites.

Wisconsin Dells -- Las Vegas for kids!!  Don t forget to go on a Duck ride and see the Tommy Bartlett show!
