Quote from: WillcWe have a 01 1908 and love the rockwood.
We looked at Coleman and the dealer laughed about us wanting a furnace in a pop up. The rockwood had it already installed and a lot better price than the Coleman . I realy like the tinted windows to

We just purchased a used 1908 and will pick it up Wednesday.  We are looking forward to it.  Looks like a great camper for our growing family.  We have 3 blessings and one on the way - so we needed the sleeping room.  It also had a screen room and he threw in a lot of extras that he had purchased.

Can't wait!! :)

we are thinking about getting a 99 mesa, and was wondering your thoughts about them?  any help is appreciated, thnks much

Quote from: Mesa MacWe are looking to trade in out 99 Coleman Mesa for a new Rockwood. (specifically, the 2405 SS).  We like the slide out sofa, which would greatly add to interior space. Having spent well over 100 nights in the Mesa, we are obviously Coleman biased, but the Rockwood seems to offer a lot more for the money, and the quality seems comporable.

Any one have any thoughts on Rockwoods? Good or bad, we would love to know. Any thoughts on how to get the best price?  Our local deal is pricing this model at @ $9900.

Don't forget Forest River makes Rockwoods.  Look around for a "Flagstaff" dealer also as they are clones of the Rockwoods.  Identical except for colors and badging...

I've had a Flagstaff 176 (small 8 box) since June and love it.  You do get a lot for the money on these and with a few exceptions (see second post), you find fewer problems posted about Forest River built pop ups vs others and a lot of happy campers...

And apparently Forest River as a company is very good to work with

We had a Rockwood 1260 for 16 years and loved it.  Drug it around behind a jeep then a Suburban - usually forgot it was back there until we arrived at the campground.  Raised 2 boys in it, always camped with 2 dogs, never had a lick of trouble.  Finally sold it to another "small" family and am looking for a larger replacement.  Looked at Coleman - hate the plastic.  Trying to find another Rockwood, but they seem to be pretty scarce, especially used ones.

I bought my new 06 Rockwood model 1980 at Tom Raper RV In Indiana, it was a drive from Illinois but I ended saving about $1000.00 off prices around here, and it even had the screen room included.
very nice people to deal with , my salesman has left but everyone was great , I even had them hold it over the phone and drove down to pick it up.
I wish you well with your search for a used Rockwood/Flaggstaff I really love mine

I wouldn't recommend a Rockwood popup, I have a 2006 which started leaking thru the fantastic fan after approx 2 1/2 years and didn't notice it because its been parked under cover and Rockwood won't return emails,c alls regarding warranty (the dealer claimed its out of warranty) but I had a 1980 Viking that I purchased used and had for 10 years and never had a problem,
I thought Rockwood was a good company but i guess I was wrong.
