Looking for suggestions on shower tents. I do not want to use it for showering, just to put the pottie in. I would like something that is easy to set up. Thanks for your suggestions

We have a shower tent from Wallie world...but just found out that our state parks and army corp parks are no longer allowing us to use it. not even just to put our port potti into which is all that we used it for anyway. We went camping this past wkend and the park ranger came thru and told us to take it down. It was no where near water only set up for potti,so you might want to check that out before spending the money on one.          : )

COOL FIND!!!!

I just ordered one. We'll let you know how it is  :-() .

We currently have one of the ones that is put together with a bunch of poles and a steel frame. It's great and we do use it but it's a pain in the tush to set up.

So, do you think that banning a shower tent is going to be a trend nationwide? I'd love to get one but hate going to the expense only to have it sit at home. I may have to look at the dinette mod.

Cabela's has a spring-loaded one on sale for $50. You take it out of its case, toss it on the ground and it sets itself up (slight exaggeration). We use ours as an outhouse.

That looks exactly like the one that I just ordered from:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=414681

Except it doesn't have the "Outback" logo on it.  :sombraro:

I hate paying to advertise for manufacturers and/or retailers. The way that I look at it, it should be cheaper if you carry around and display their logo, not be more expensive. :eyecrazy:

Uhhhhhhhh!!! I didn't mean to "suggest" buying it YET. I just thought that it seemed like a better buy then the Cabella one (with the $20 logo).

When I get it, I'll write a review on it.. :sombraro: ......Then I will either suggest it or NOT!!!

If it is as portayed in the ad, it should be very handy to have along. It appears easy enough to set-up that you could set it up, take a shower, then take it down after it dries. That way, we may be able to avoid offending our neighbors. :D

OK Our new shower tent just arrived. I'll do a short review here, although we have not yet put it into practical use. It works great in the living room :sombraro: .

The tent is extremely easy to set up. Take it out of it's nice round storage pouch (26" diameter x 1" thick) and it practically jumps into position.

It has ample room for me to take a shower and I'm a big guy (6'3", 225#).

Folding down is also simple after reading the instructions :book:  and a couple practice rounds  :p.

If you leave it flat, you could just slide it under your mattress and not even know that it was there.

Here comes the issues that I have with it:

1. It is extremely sheer. Standing in there naked may be a little uncomfortable for some (and enjoyable for others :p ).

2. It doesn't have a floor  :( . It would have been so easy for them to sew in a floor   . I guess I'll have to do it myself... :swear: . On the other hand, setting it up over a small plastic tarp may be a better way to go. It would certainly be easier to keep clean and you could step out onto the tarp instead of dirt.

3. The zippers are quite flimsy, like you might find on a light wind breaker jacket. It will remain to be seen how long they will last. My guess is, one season with just us or one camp-out with the grandkids :D .

4. There is NO WAY that it will support the supplied shower bag. However, we don't care about that because we intend to use our camper's outdoor shower equipment. If someone wants to use the shower bag, they will have to hang it from a tree or rig up some sort of support system on the camper top.

5. It must be staked down. The slightest breeze and you will be standing there naked watching this thing roll down the road. I would think that any breeze over 10MPH would render this thing pretty useless.

I don't think that we will be getting rid of our other shower tent any time soon. It is much more substantial and can be left up for days, on our longer camp-outs. This shower tent will be ideal for our weekend jaunts (arriving Fri night and leaving Sun morning), when we feel like taking a shower on Saturday morning. Just set it up, use it, let it dry for 30 minutes and put it away.

I agree with wavery. I just got mine today. It is rather flimsy. But for $30 what can you expect. I doubt it will hold the shower bag filled with water. I only plan to use it for the potty at night for the kids, so for the cost it is exactly what i was looking for. I would not recommend buying it if you need it for a shower but, for a changing/potty room it should do the job.
