whitestar505I do most of the outside grunt work. DW takes care of the inside of the PU. (Read, with the A/C on).[;)]

I pack and unpack the beer.[:D]

Redwolf

Acts 2:38 girlWe all share the work, pretty equally.   [:D]

Miss-Teri

Acts 2:38 girlI pack and load, and keep it as close to clean as possible.  DH does most of the set-up and take-down (although we all help), and he cooks and does most of the dishwashing.

 Works great!

Acts 2:38 girlAs far as trips go, I plan, shop, pack, load, drive, make the beds, keep the camper neat/clean, cook and do the dishes.  Hubby backs the trailer in, deals with all of the utilities (including dumping the tanks [: (]), puts down the stabilizers and helps unfold the beds.

Now, as for maintenance, that s mostly hubby (although I do help).  I just draw the line at helping with maintenance when he has to have everything spotlessly clean before and after every trip.  [8D]

QuoteWe are definitely stereotypes when it comes to getting ready to go camping. I m the organizer/packer of food and clothing, but DH carries it all down from our second story condo to the car. When we hook up it takes teamwork to get the PU out of the garage and then I back the car up while DH guides me and he hooks everything up. Once there and the PU is cranked up (by DH), then he does the outside and I do the inside (it s teamwork for the awning, tho). Since we camp with NNC, neither of us ever has to worry about who is going to cook because it is usually Larry or Mike or Bonny....  When we camp solo, we eat out ALOT. When we get home, DH carries everything back into the house, I do the unpacking and laundry, while he takes the car and PU to the carwash. Then we both put it back to bed in the garage.

What G-Whiz modestly failed to mention is how well she organizes and packs.  We use collapsible crates from Target to carry what we pack into the car.  Even someone as disorganized as I am can pack up a neat TV.

I guess I make up for it by being the driver.  Pretty much have both the I-5 and 101 memorized from Ventura north.

Acts 2:38 girlWell we do it as a family affair, we each have our responsibilities and try to get it all done as fast and smooth as possible, each time we get better and better at it.
 Everybody works to have fun.
 Happy Camping

The Overmans

whitestar505Normally, my wife is the organizer of the household.  She gets everything ready and I m responsible for packing and loading the car / PU.  When we pull in, WE unload everything and we work together as a team to PU the camper.  Once that is done, she goes inside and sets up while set up the outside stuff.  The children aren t quite old enough yet to help constructivly so we tell them to play, have fun and stuff.

Camping Coxes

whitestar505It s got to be 50/50, or it s not fun for the person doing the most work.  Before we go out, DH pops up the trailer and I make sure it s clean and restock anything that ran out on the last trip.  I shop and pack our clothes, and DH loads the food, clothes, bikes, etc.  We hook up together.

Once we re at the campground, it s a different story.  DH tends to do the brunt of the work.  He takes over whatever I start to cook.  We tend to use our barbecue a lot, so I plan meals with that in mind.  He cooks, I clean.  It works for us!  That way we both enjoy our getaways.

Just remember, if you always do things trying to help the other person, making sure they re not having to do everything, and they ll do things with the same philosopy, no one is going to be resentful about being overworked.[:)]

whitestar505My DW packs for herself and the kids.  We pack the trailer together and I pack the truck.  I cook 80% of the meals and do 10% of the dishes.  We do the set up and take down of the camper together.  Once we get home my DW does most of the unpacking and clean up because I go back to work the next day.  It usually takes 2 or 3 days to put the trailer away for the next trip.

Well, folks think it s Dave that does all the work, but really it is Steve & I (who are kept locked in a closet)[8D]
