I was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey as were my children and my grandfather was born there in 1898.  Still live in the area about 20 miles from A.C.
I love living where all my family and friends that I grew up with are.  My husband is also from the area.  It is getting a little crowded but always
something to do.

everyone's stories are so interesting to read, I'm so happy so many have responded and shared their great histories!!!  It's always fascinating to know a little something about others lives because it is really interesting to learn where one started out and the route they took to get to where they are!!

I was born in Newburgh NY (orange county 60 mi. north of NYC) we moved 2 miles down the road to Town of Montgomery to change school districts about 2 minutes from where American Chopper (love that show BTW) is filmed if anybody watches that.  Just recently Jay and I moved to Ulster County by Kingston NY to a little town named Rifton.  Rents are a lot cheaper up here and it is so nice.  If anybody ever saw The Road to Wellville it was filmed near where we are (Mohonk Mountain House).  We are 15 minutes from a super walmart but I have deer, squirrels, bunnies etc and even a bald eagle that flies over all the time.  When the kids are grown Jay and I plan to retire to the adirondacks where he will open a fixit shop.

Born in Pittsburgh Pa.
Lived in Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut,  before the age of 17. Dad's job kept us moving. He got transferred to Toronto when I was 17. They left again after 3 years, but by that time I was in university and stayed in Canada, and have never regretted that decision. Except when it is -20 and i have to go shovel the !@#$%^& snow. :C

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA when I was 10 my father was going through maybe a midlife crisis and quit his job as a chemist researcher and ventured into the Plastics industry. He and 2 other men bought an old empty brewery and moved us up to Mankato, MN. The business is still there in Mankato, it is now called Atlantis Plastics. That is where I called home. I did attend college in Rensselaer IN for three years and met my ex-husband and moved to Mesa, AZ. I divorced my ex after 2 and half yrs. I stayed in Mesa because I had a good job and raised my son there until marrying my DH in 1998 and moved to Scottsdale, AZ.

DH was born in Palermo, Sicily and moved to Brooklyn NY when he was about 6 was left there in the care of his uncle and aunt until he was 7 and returned to Sicily. The economy and school systems were so bad there he and his mother came back and and bought a dairy farm in Goshen NY where he graduated HS and then went onto community college then to NYU in Utica. He then returned to the farm and his parents decided to move to Islip on Long Island, NY. By then DH was working for GE in Connecticut and took a transfer to Charleston SC where he lived for a couple of yrs then he was transfered to Scottland. He lived there for 1 and half years. Then onto Virginia Beach, VA and back to SC. His parents in the mean time decided they would like to retire in AZ but not sure where. DH helped them choose and purchased them the home in Scottsdale. DH's father took on a massive heart attack in 1996 and his mother could not take care of him. So DH left his job in SC and moved to AZ to take care of his father until he died. He had promised his father he would take care of his mother. We met 1 and half years later on a blind date and I am sure glad we did. And for now this is where we call home.
