"Gene, Try some duct tape instead of using nails........"

LOL

OldGoat, you sound like my dd.  She uses rolls of that stuff.

It is a good idea but I don't think the duct tape would hold up against the pressure from the panel and it really would not look that great.  I wouldn't be able to put the duct tape inside the cabinat.

There is a section about 8 inches long that is bulging out from the side about 1/4 inch.  I really think the problem is that the service guy missed the small board he was supposed to attach the panel to with the staples.

I just wanted to save myself 40 miles of towing (one-way) and not mess up a day for about 2 minutes worth of work.

As a 47 yr old man. once in the trades, hardwood flooring for a brother duo,
man did I get an education... I had done very few things hands-on... create something...for whatever reason...
We worked in very exclusive neighborhoods and man talk about quality... and then there were the run of the suburb houses and the owner installed something himself... and no knowledge... a gamit of scenarios...

My wife "knows" what I feel about craftmanship, especially if it is not done right.. we did most of the work on our condo we just sold.. got $345,000 for 970 sq.ft. still a record there.

If you are well taught as I was in craftmanship and "doing it right".
Man what a difference. Aesthetically and monetarily!
Demand quality! and alas you may have to pay for it! :)

Update on couch and panel

Couch

I picked up the couch today.  Sewing job is okay and I hope it will hold or at least let go before the warrantee runs out next April.

Dealer called and gave me address to send paid bill to Jayco.  I preferred paying for it myself and then having Jayco reimburse me.  Lot easier than running the bill over to the dealer etc.

On the fridge panel, I was told that I could try to fix it myself but if it didn't work, that was it as far as the warantee goes on that part.  So I am planning on making an appointment to go back to the dealer to have them fix it again.

By the way, the guy I have to work with at the dealership has been a lot nicer and really following up on things recently.  I wonder if it had anything to do with my having that chat with the owner. :)
