you know its a rookie when you pull out and wonder what that scraping noise is and find that the stabilizers are still down

You know you're a rookie when you finally backed into your spot, leveled, raised the roof, dropped the stabilizers, extended the bunks and slide out, everthing is going smooth, and your all done within 20 minutes.  Then you go to grab a *beer to quench your thirst, and there is NONE!! :yikes:

* You can substitute your favorite thirst quenching beverage.  ;)

I can say that many of these have happened to well seasoned campers, not naming anyone specific.  LOL  How about "left your camper keys at home".  This one gets me everytime I see it-"set up camper in the corner of the site and therefore are setting in 4 campsites".  LOL

You know your a rookie when you back into your spot and put the wheel back on the tongue jack and then after you unhitch the TV and pull away the wheel falls off the tongue jack because you didn't get the pin anywhere near the holes and the wheel bends to the point where it wont fit anymore.

I did this on our maiden voyage, My first SPUT........

Quote from: mach8274You know you're a rookie when you can't figure out why your bunk end canvas is streching so much and what the heck are these extra poles for?!?!

Saw that one last year

Ok...I am a rookie!  We just bought our first PU last week (have been tent campers for years).  I am reading this thread to educate myself.  But, I don't get this one?  Please help before I make a bonehead move!

I do have extra polls in my PU...well they aren't polls exactly they are three sides and look like they fit over something, but we can't figure out where they go.

I saw somebody set thier pup up and they forgot to put the support poles under the bunk ends-that's what it means. As for your poles, I don't know.

You know you're a rookie when you have your brakeaway switch cable too short and the first turn you make your trailer brakes lock up.

Easy one.  Those fit over the posts that hold the roof up when you are popped up, to give the roof more support so it won't come crashing down on you.  They are typically used when you have extra weight on the roof like an A/C unit.

You know you're a rookie when you un-hitch your Hybrid and notice only when you pull away that you forgot to remove the safety chains from the TV.............That was Dee4j not me.    LOL
