Regular unleaded here in Vegas is now $3.19 a gallon, not showing any signs of going down anytime soon........Ed

gas is at about $2.70/gallon here in central south MT.  sigh.  I have a 90 mile commute to work, luckily it's not a daily commute..just twice a week!!  I WISH we had public transportation here, but we are WAY WAY WAY too spread out for that.  And I wouldn't feel safe on a motorcycle with all the big old RV's in the summer here!  yikes!

As I've been putting the finishing touches on our plans for our long trip, I came across this website on gasoline prices:

http://www.gasbuddy.com

Maybe you've seen it already. I found it very useful because it lets me choose the particular states I'll be driving through. That way I can more realistically budget my gasoline cost.

I'd be interested to know, from you masses out there, whether what you see out your window is anything close to what gasbuddy says. How accurate are these prices in your neck of the woods?  They're pretty accurate as to what I see here in New York State.

Newspaper had gas listed in our area at $3.09 this morning it's been slowly dropping........Hoping it'll drop a little more by the 29th......Going to Yosemite for eight days.......Husband looked at the new Hybrid truck and it was very nice but we could buy lots of gas for the sticker price on it........!  So for now we'll just have to pick and choose when and where to camp....

IMO, the website is a little obscure. For example, gas prices in Palm Beach Co are around $2.85-2.95.
On gasbuddy.com they list 1 station in the area @ $2.69 with the address. I clicked the Find Button... the station was not listed.
I think this website is a "bait and switch" - sure, it may have been $2.69 for 5 minutes to get all the suckers to drive out there only to find the new price of $2.85.

I've actually found this site to be fairly accurate, at least here in Dover Delaware...
