"Not sure if it makes a difference...BUT...the one we purchased from JC Penneys (under the bargin hunter section) says it's 18.8 lbs for the king size (I know it was pretty heavy...) the one on the link that Ann has says it's 2.5 lbs. That seems like a huge difference if they are both correct......"

Depends on how they rate them. Some are by weight per square foot/square yard and others by total weight. Makes a big difference.

As for me, I'm one of the weird people that can't sleep on a water bed or on memory foam. The foam takes a set and if I move the time it takes to reform to "fit me" actually wakes me up.
I actually saved quite a bit of money on the new mattress for the house I bought last month as all the expensive pillowtop and memory foam toppers weren't comfortable at all to me. So I got just an old style mattress and box spring and sleep like better than a baby.

ANother trick that works for some folks is to put the extra foam, be it eggcrate, simple flat sheet or memory UNDER the existing mattress/foam pad. They say it goves a totally different feel and quite a few folks swear by this method.
My new trailer is going to be some model of the Premier/Classic FLagstaff/Rockwood from Forest River, just because they have a true inner spring mattress in them. I tried them and it has the same feel like my regular one in the house.

did you get the dream hugger from JCP?   I suffer from arthritis and the egg crate does help a lot.  I now need to return the egg crate to the camper and wasn't sure whether to put egg crate on my queen bed at home or memory foam.  Would hate to pay $100+ and then find out I preferred the $12 egg crate foam, so would appreciate your comments.

I just bought a 2" Novaform Memory Foam Topper at Linens N Things and love it!!  It has made such a difference in my comfort level so far as waking up at night with my back aching or muscle spasms that after sleeping on it for a week now, I actually cancelled my physical therapy appointment today because I finally feel so much better!!!!!!  I only wish I'd bought it months ago!!   Since my car accident in July, it was hard to get comfortable at night and I woke up in pain every morning just from aching...plus I have some mild arthritis in my back.

I wouldn't have even thought about buying one of these things until I saw everyone's comments about them here!!  I'm going to buy another one for our TT!!   Just got my parents to buy one to as my mom has a lot of back pain and aching too and doesn't sleep well.  They'll be testing theirs out tonight!!  DH and I are amazed at the difference these toppers really make.

Yep, we certainly do love ours and it seems that several folks here that either bought one for the camper or the house have loved it so much that they are now buying an additional one for the other bed!  :>

They are definitely worth it for me anyway!

Quote from: Peter and SueHas anyone purchased these memory foam toppers? They look like a good idea, but I'd really appreciated if someone who has bought and used them could comment.
I went to a foam and fabric store (usually do reupholstery) and explained what I was doing and that I wanted a dense foam that was 1-2" thick.  They set me up with some 1" dense foam that did the trick.  It wasn't very expensive and was worth a night's sleep to me.  The memory foam is the same type of foam.

DW and I added a foam topper to the bed in our popup. It was the best purchase we've ever made.
