Has anyone purchased these memory foam toppers?  They look like a good idea, but I'd really appreciated if someone who has bought and used them could comment.

we have the foam on our bed at home, we have the nautilis system we like it, haven't tried it on the bunk yet, will soon

I have wondered if the foam is worth the money. :)

Same here...I've seen a king sized foam topper for about $80. (I think it was at Boscov's.) And I wondered if it was worth it also. Right now I have a foam mattress pad I bought at Wally-World on the bed (on top of the Coleman mattress that came with the camper). Rather than the eggcrate structure, it's a solid piece of foam with little squares cut into it. It looks like the foam pads I've seen used in nursing homes. It's about two inches thick and does a pretty good job, but every now and then, I wish I had just a bit more padding.

If anyone has any opinions, I'd sure like to hear them!

Here's the king size topper I was referring to.

We put a 1 3/4" Foam Mattress pad on our bunk in our PU last year and it worked great! It isn't memory foam, which I assume would be even better, but just a Wallyworld cheapie. I was very comfortable. I CAN even leave it on the bed and fold up the camper, although I usually roll it up and store it when folding up, as I don't like putting any extra pressure on the latches!

Gary has made a very good point here about the thickness that will still allow the popup to close without putting pressure on.

I don't have any trouble closing the PU with the foam pad still on the mattress. One time we were leaving after I got off work, so I decided to make the bed ahead of time so I'd have one less thing to do when we got there. With the blanket, comforter, and pillows on the bunk ends, we did have to use some extra elbow grease to get the top down far enough to latch it. I think the next time we did that, we stashed the pillows somewhere else instead of leaving them on the beds, and it was a lot easier.

We have the 1 1/2 inch memory foam on the camper bunk....WOW, what a difference it has made! We first tried the mattress like it was, YIKES...way too hard for these bones....next we tried the foam eggcrate pad...a little better, but still not quite right...we tried the egg crate pad over our self inflating pad....too lumpy as the inflating pads aren't quite the right size...finally, we tried the memory foam and have slept wonderfully ever since! With our PU we can fold the top easily with the memory foam, restwarmer heating pad, sheets, blanket and even down comforter. The pillows we store elsewhere. :>

We liked the memory foam so much we now have it on our inside bed too!

Not sure if it makes a difference...BUT...the one we purchased from JC Penneys (under the bargin hunter section) says it's 18.8 lbs for the king size (I know it was pretty heavy...) the one on the link that Ann has says it's 2.5 lbs.  That seems like a huge difference if they are both correct......

Hmmm...I now see that Penney's has a 1 1/2" topper for just $49.99 called the "Dream Hugger Pad".

For only $49.99, it might be worth checking out!

I don't know about the weights...but we have two of the king size. Bought one for the camper and after we winterized the camper and brought it inside and used it on our regular bed , we had to order another for the camper because we didn't want to take it off our real bed!  :> They are thick, very dense, and so comfy!

I wondered if it was, since it sounded like the same dimensions and came from Penney's. At $50, I think I might just give it a try!

Hmmm...wonder if I use it in addition to the foam pad I already have, that would be too much...or just wonderful?? LOL!!

I just purchased this exact topper from JCPenney and I really like it.  I actually bought it for our bed at home because the mattress was just a little too firm for my DH.  I think I am going to order another one to put in the popup too.  He says it makes a difference in the way he sleeps.
