OK--here's a woman's point of view.  It's kind of diffferent  and I hope I dont sound disloyal to popup camping, but you can  replace the popup eventually without a lot of trouble.

.  You cant do this with the 'Stang.  If your DH has been working on the car, spending money, putting love and time and  sweat into it, let him keep it. He'll probably never get another once it is gone  and he will probably grieve its loss all his life.   If it were finished and restored, you might get some good money out of it, but if it is a "work in progress" you wont get enough money out of it to make it worthwhile taking his dream away from him.  it isnt going to cost anything juist sitting there and it will lift your DH's spirits to know he still has it and can work on it now and then.  (Men need their toys and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.  They work hard and the toys allow them to escape for a little while.)

And anyhow, if he isnt going to have a vacation for another year, the popup will just sit there being unused and  depreciating  more every day.  Get rid of it as fast as you can while it is still worth some money--camping season is beginning and someone will be looking for a camper NOW for this summer.  Good time to sell.  Good luck and remember, giving up the popup now  doesnt mean you have to  give up your camping dreams forever.,
