Congrats rick.  It definately has been to long since we camped together since it seems every time I see you, there is a different camper on your site.:p   Can't wait to see this one.

Hey guys...  here's a quick pic from last weekend up at North Lake.  Sorry it's the best I could do right now...

Quote from: SheBantamRick, the biggest downside to the Aliner is the awning, or lack there-of. I know that an aliner owner makes them and sells them or at least the plans anyway. Some have gorrilla glued bolts on top of the trailer and use tyvek (because it is very very light) with grommets, and the expanding poles (can be had at Walmart) to make their own trailer awning,
Paula, funny you should mention the awning issue - my brain has been working overtime trying to invent something.  I am thinking the easiest thing would be to just get an easy up awning thingy or something like that.  I checked out the website you mentioned and got the plans from the guy.  I'll see what happens...

You missed the Mid-Atlantic Aliner rally, it was near Gettysburg, I think last weekend or the weekend before (obviously I did not go).  Some of these Aliner owners have been pretty creative with the awning as it has to be light enough for the roof.
I don't do the seperate shade only because I cannot set it up by myself, especially now with the back issues (have not put up my little hex shleter since I twisted the back.  The shademaker would not work well on a "REAL" Aliner since it has the solid piece at the end with the self storing legs and rafters.
Good luck and enjoy.

If you bring an EZUp type canopy when you're with us, we could set it up for you. Kels and I do it all the time. I hate cranking up (hurts my shoulder/neck) but EZUps I can handle.

Didn't give you the proper congrats on the Camper.  We were going through customs during our phone conversation.  Miss you guys.  Send pictures of this big fancy thing you got.  Love to see it.  I may have to someday go the the dark side also.
