birolOH BIROL!  What a treat to see you here!  The person who wanted you here on the new board has good taste, and is just one of your many friends who are delighted to see you!!.  I still remember the beautiful and from-the-heart remarks you wrote us about your love of camping and the outdoors.  Your good heart and love of  nature are wonderful assets for a camping board like ours!!  [:)]

I m glad you see you are still around.  Hope your situation gets better soon!  Don t give up, it ll be getting better for you soon.  Things will come together for you.  As far as a camper...I hung out on the boards for a long time before we finally moved up from tent camping.  We first went popup shopping in the Fall of 1997...and bought a pickup truck to tow with...didn t get a camper until June  02![:D]

birolGuys you are an amazing bunch ! No wonder I can t get away from this board thanks to the wonderful help I received.

I also thank moderator1, for what he knows !!! It is you people who are connecting me to the real life these days.

As for how the things are going, I almost got ran over my the windstar two weeks ago, but survived it with tons of bruises and pulled muscles and a twisted knee which is still not functinong properly. I thought I put the van in break and it started to move back and instead of getting back in (Which I could do) I tried to break from outseid, and the door hit my left knee and I fell , tried to use my hand to break, and fell under the door, and saw that huge wheel coming towards me and my left feet against the door pushing me backwards. Last thing I remember is, saying, wooow it might run over me, I had better roll away. Obviously I did, as I opened my eyes and I was 180 degrees pivoted on my back with the van stopped (by mife who was in the car) 5 meter away from me. The door passed above my head I guess, I was that close to the van.

Turns out it was somehow in reverse and that s why it didn t stop immediately when wifey pulled the emergency brake. Doctors said to expect a lot of pain, which I hate them for being truthful. But I am able to walk at least, and I should recover in time I am told.

I am still hoping that I will get a job soon, and the first thing I do will be to get a POPUP !!! In this mad state of mind, I told my wife I don t care if she never comes because it doesn t have hard walls. I can t wait till I get one this year hopefully. At least we have solved the housing problem thanks to some help from our bank, we seem to be mortgage free for some years to come, don t ask me how I did it, it is sooo secret :).

I am so glad to be back here, hope to meet with some of you someday somewhere .....

Take it easy on the recovery.  It will get better in its own time.

birolGlad to see you here Birol.  A special thanks to the one who brought you your membership.  As a health professional, honesty with our patients is the only way to go... so yes it s gonna hurt!

Hope you heal quickly... and as for the pain... there are ways to deal with that too!

Have a great day Birol!  [:)]

birol

 birolThanks for the honesty Cadeuses,

BUT, I can t drink beer in the morning now can I ? :):):)

My biggest fear is, being unable to camp if this leaves me unable to do any lifting or pushing, that kind of stuff. I will see pretty soon I guess.

birolAbout the drinking in the morning... there would be many who would disagee with you.  Of course, we also have programs for them too!  (AA)(Detox)etc..!

You ll just have to get the Monterey.  If you can push the button... it will set itself up.

   Have a great day!

 birolBirol -
Sorry to hear about your mishap but goodness it could have been worse!  Funny thing - almost the SAME thing happened to one of our group and he has a cracked rib that he is now nursing.  He is a trouper as he did manage to " limp"  to our Christmas campout as he was one of the Chili judges and he wasn t going to miss out!  Campers are one tough group of people!
As for the camper - one of our dearest members sold his popup and now tent camps but mostly just stops by the group is camping near his home. He brings the kids and it is really nice to get to see them.  So, just remember - the love of camping is a state of mind and a love from the heart and you don t have to " have"  one to be one! So, if you ever get to Florida we will save a place around our campfire for you and yours and heaping plates of yummy food to go with that warm fire! May 2003 be good for you and others out there too!  Hugs from Florida!
