was thinking of getting one...since winter is so wintery, i bet summer is gonna be really summery!  and may need an a/c

ThunderRock

Jo AnnCan t say I ever heard of a table-top a/c unit; please explain.

Jo AnnHey TR...will see if i can find the link for one....

Jo AnnYou need to talk to Brainpause (Larry), he has a frame and a light window AC for one of his windows in his camper.

One of the MAPCE members bought what turned out to be a swamp cooler, works great in arid areas, but not in the midatlantic.

Raymond threatened to put a hole in the back of the camper and put a window AC in the hole and mount supports to the bumper to hold it in place.  I bought the Bantam instead.

Jo Ann

I bought one of these last year when it was half price at Wally world ($250)
I took it out of the box and it was HUGE!!  Since our popup is so tiny, I just couldn t see a decent place to put it.  I sold it on ebay.

 Here they are on ebay

Jo AnnWelshie, more of a toy than a really useful cooling unit. With only 100 cfm and they say it only cools a 7 x 7 x 5 volume you d need 3 of them to cool a 12 footer and then you d have to replace ice about every 2 hours. If you didn t use frozen bottles (which would slow down the cooling) you also have to deal with all the moisture you d put in the air from the melting ice. Thats how a home humidifier works; blowing air over a water source.
IMHO if you were in a humid climate it would make it worse not better.
Might be nice to take to a game and sit on it instead of those hot seats.[:D]

Jo Ann

Jo AnnThanx SQ and welshie...but those weren t the units...sigh...will have to go for a roof one...
