 Jo AnnJo Ann,

I added an air conditioner to my PU last spring.  I did a little research and decided on the Carrier Air V.  If you do get one I recommend getting the heat option.  On the Carrier you have to get the heat when you buy the inside unit.  You can not add the heat later, unless you buy a new inside unit.  Here is the link to their website.

One of the things I like the best is the slinger wheel that keeps the amount of condensation to a minimum.

Jo Annthanx trac...checking it out now...

 did it cost alot????

tlhdoc

Jo AnnI paid $750 for the A/C installed.  I am not sure what the break down for parts/labor was, but I think the A/C itself with the heat (not heat pump) was around $550 or $600.

PopUpPeeps

Jo AnnI also got the Carrier from RVADDONS. I paid under $500 for it (no heat), and got free shipping. You can get free shipping if you have it shipped to a business address, so I had it shipped to DW s work. I put it in myself, it only took a few hours. I was a little stressed out about it at first because I m as unhandy as they come, but it is really easy if you already have a vent hole in the roof.

Jo AnnI was at my Coleman dealer today.  They have the Air V on sale for $529 cash and carry.  I don t know if that is with heat or not.

 Hi Tracy
 Who is your coleman dealer?
 Andy

Rhone s Travel Trailers in Cogan Station PA, 570-494-1364.

They also have real good prices on the 2003 Coleman PU.

Starryart

Jo AnnFWIW: When we bought our currrent trailer it came with the brand of A/C in your first message. We are not happy with it at all[:@]. It does not cool as well as the Coleman A/C we had in our first trailer. Our advice is to go with a Coleman or Carrier for cooling power.

Jo Ann

Jo AnnThanx starryart...will avoid that one....will probably go with the V like tracy has...and try to find one under 500...cuz i have to get the screen room for my awning...that is a first must!

Jo Ann

Jo Anni just went to rvaddons and they have the a/c on sale and the screen room for my awning on sale...sigh.  best price i have seen for my screen room.

Gamecock Camper

Jo AnnOk, I looked at the rvaddons site and could have saved about $15 more on my AAR.  I guess I was thinking of that site more for the AC units than for the AAR s.  Next time I ll check there too when looking around for the best price.

wssfetch

 Jo AnnJo Ann,

My camper has a Duo Therm AC with heat strip.  I ve had no problems with it at all.  Keeps the camper nice and cold and nice and warm depending on which way we want it to be.

Jo Ann

Jo Annthanx wssfetch...will keep it in mind then...lol...going back and forth, i start to confuse options!!!
