Something is womperjawed on this forum board!  I?ve noticed this before then it happened again.  Here?s what I?m seeing:

When I clicked on the threads ?Good Sam...? and ?Curb ramps? in the General section the threads came up normal; i.e., the entire post showed on my computer screen (left to right) and I could read the post and replies without having to move to the right to see the rest of a sentence.  Then, I read the threads ?Starcrart Centennial? and ?Tilley Hats? and the messages ran way to hell off to the right and I would have to page over to the right to complete a sentence, then back to the left, then back to the right, etc., etc.  I then ran all of these posts several times and the same thing happens.  Weird!

Wonder what gives here?  Is my computer doing crazy things?  Or, am I just having a ?senior moment.?

Only thing I can figure out is that some little part ain?t working right - but don?t know which part (PUT, my computer, or me?).

Also, every time I try to type a post or reply my computer freezes up before I can finish and then I have to force a shutdown...and you know the rest of it.  What I do now is type out my post/reply on Word, copy it, then paste it to the reply/post window on the Forum and click to post it.   Works for me, but gets a little tedious.

Oh, well, keeps my mind working and gives me something to fuss about.[:@]

WayfarerI had to read this message twice before I understood what you meant. Not that you didn t write it right, I can just read better when I have my contacts in or glasses on [:o]. I had the same problem the other day with a few threads. It is probably just some little glitch that happens for unknown computer reasons. I clicked on the threads you were talking about and tilley hats did the same thing to me but the other looked fine.

I dont know why your puter would freeze up from trying to post. I am a dummy when it comes to computers. I know when my memory gets low I have more problems so I usually delete temporary internet files and that helps me.

Camper Dan

 WayfarerWayfarer[:D],

I noticed the same thing, too!  Some post are one page width/normal and you can read as is and some...are so WIDE they come with a scroll bar at the bottom.

I wonder what the problem is to cause that?  Anybody else got any ideas?

tlhdoc

WayfarerI noticed it, but no I have no idea why.[&:]

campingcop

Wayfarerhave had the same happen but have no idea why[&:]

Cadeuses

campingcopOn the old board, you could select the post size (so-to-speak) of the thread you were starting, for instance you could chose 800 X 600, or 640 X 480 etc.  If you chose a higher number... say 1024 X 768 or higher, it often made the boarders so large on the screen that it came with horizontal scroll bars.  Remember now?

Well that was then... and now...  I don t see where you have the option to change the size of the boarders... so I have nt a clue as to how it is happening or being selected... but that is how it used to be.  HTH

Perhaps Steve can enlighten us all?

 Have a great day!

Wayfarerthe writing goes off to the right side when someone posts a link that is really long.
The link extends the page and the column then gets bigger.

wiininkwe

WayfarerWow, I thought it was just me and I wasn t gonna say anything to anybody.  Thank goodness some of the rest of you have this condition too.

Wayfarer

WayfarerI think luvourjayco has it figured out.  Looking back at the two threads mentioned in my original post, Starcraft Centennial and Tilley Hats, RamblingWreck posted a reply in each one which included a link which must have been about 18 inches long and could very well link up to God, the universe, and a couple of other things[;)].  Perhaps that is the cause of it all.

Now, what should we do to RamblingWreck?[>:]

 Hmmmmmmmm....
 (Just kidding[:)])

MtnCamper

 luvourjaycoYup, It s the links.

 [link=***]...[/link]; ...
 Produces clickable link with Name
Useful when you want to insert links with names
 Link location needs to start with " http://" , " ftp://" , " https://"
 [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/*]My Site[/link*]
 My Site
Remove the " *"  symbols, If they aren t there now you can t see how to use it.

Takes less room, and eliminates the arrowing right and left. It s just easier to read.

SheBantam

WayfarerGary, can you repeat that in English???[8D][8D]

I have seen the links in here before and only recently figured out how to add them to my geocities site (that is basically point and paste and click). I am going to have to e-mail this to myself so I have it handy for the future. ThenI can point, past and click here too using your lesson as a template.  ALL RIGHT!!

 Thanks for the lesson.

SheBantam

WayfarerOK Gary, now I have your number.
When I was updating my signature, I pushed that little button about code above where you input the signature. It not only gave the same lesson you did but also showed me how to add color and align. And so other things that I probably should not do[:D][&:]

Now I have a signature that rivals others!![;)]

MtnCamper

 SheBantamKinda neat aint t it?[;)]

If anyone else wants to see it work (or how), click on the reply to button above, then quote the original message, then the link code in this message disappears and you can see it.
