I pre-cook the meat at home and put it in a ziplock before we camp.  If you prefer, you can cook the ground beef and bacon while camping.

 1/2 lb. ground beef     1/3 c. sugar
 1/2 lb. bacon              1/3 c. brown sugar
 1 med. onion              1 T. mustard
 1/3 c. catsup              1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. BBQ sauce        1 can red kidney beans (drained)
1/2 t. pepper              1 can butter beans (drained)
1 can pork & beans (drained)

Line your D.O. with heavy duty foil.  Brown ground beef, bacon and onion; drain.  Mix together in a bowl, brown sugar, catsup, bbq sauce, pepper, sugar, mustard & salt.  Stir in the meat mixture.  Next add the beans and mix well.

Bake in a D.O. for about an 30-45 min. until thoroughly heated through.

This makes a great dish for a Pot-Luck Dinner and can be made in an oven at home at 350 degrees.

iwantapopupI make this recipe with molasses instead of the bbq sauce....yet another variation.  It s easy to do in a crockpot, too.  Just brown the hamburger and bacon and dump the rest in.  Easy way to do it for pot-lucks or camping without a d/o.
