globalconceptsWe stayed at Gulf State Park a couple of years ago.  We really enjoy Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.  It is quiet but yet many activities.  We can t remember exactly which site we stayed in but we think it was around 230 or 240.  It was a W/E site.  Sort of close to the bath house (which were cleaned daily but sort of old).  The sites that we thought were best backed up to the lake/bayou - they seem to have less of a mosquito problem and had a nice breeze.  The sites all seemed to be shady.  When you arrive, they will assign you a site.  You can change your site after you check-in; if you find a better site, just go back to the registration desk and tell them the site you want.  Watch out for utilities being on the " wrong"  side - two sites share the same utility box.  You might want to carry extra white water hose and extension cords as the utilities can be a ways from your site.  You ll have to drive to the beach.  There are public beaches that you don t have to pay for down the Road (Romar Beach is free - Down near Phoenix V, across the street from Jake s Steakhouse and Adventure Island).  If you want good seafood eat at the Oyster House in Gulf Shores (highway 59).  Any more questions, just give me an email.
